Seems like most online retailers are out of mp-11 - anyone know if there'll be an eventual re-release of this guy? I just managed to order a masterpiece thundercracker for the revised mold while keeping my Walmart starscream for the original mold for some variety, but since I don't really care for the rest of the seekers, I'm contemplating consolidating my thundercracker and hasbro starscream for mp-11 to conserve shelf space.

Better yet, if hasbro plans to release starscream then I could wait as I'm in no immediate rush for mp-11. Thoughts?

Mp11 can't be conpletely sold out everywhere, can it?

Unsubstantiated mutterings about a Hasbro version next year. Deco would prob be different.

It's not even a year since his release, it's very very doubtful.

My top 4 online retailers are all out: tfsource, bbts, hlj, and robotkingdom. Oh well, I guess I'll wait til sdcc next year to see what's up.

I'm still not 100% sold on the new mold because of the fixed ankles (swiveling sideways from the transformation doesn't count - I'm an articulation nut and I need the feet to be flush with the surface), and the fins hanging off the back of the legs make his lower half look clunky from the side view. I love the look of mp-03 with the hip kibble removed and the original legs/feet, never had a problem standing him up. Even had some pictures posted in another thread mimicking the mp-11 promo shot poses. But the head and arm improvements of mp-11 definitely look better.

Maybe there'll be a v3 starscream 10 years from now when they milk us for more money and give me the legs I want :)

Besides starscream, I really have no wish to own repaints of the same mold, and I'm not a completist - just want one mold representation of the main characters. That's also why I only plan to get sideswipe and pass on red alert. Trying to keep my collection streamlined :)

I'd say just pick an Asia based seller on eBay w good feedback and be done with it.

I already looked on ebay before i started the thread - I was hesitant to spend $145 for a peglegged retool, let alone the $179 the cheapest BIN prices it's currently going for. That's why I got thundercracker - $80 is a whole lot easier to swallow. But with TC on the way, I'm just contemplating selling the two that I have and hopefully have them close to paying for mp-11.

Guess I'll hold off a little longer and see what happens in the near future between Takara and hasbro. For now, I have bigger fish to fry: mp-12 and mp-13 :)

I'd have to back and check receipts, but I'm not sure if mp11 was ever close to 145, nevermind shipping costs.

TakaraTomy has done additional runs of MP figures in the past, so an additional run of Starscream here would actually be very likely, especially since the mold is readily available. These molds have to be used and reused and reused to make their money back.

Also, miscreant's post detailing the rumor that Hasbro may release a Starscream seems very realistic too, especially considering my above statement regarding molds. Thundercracker is doing well enough, too, so that can't hurt chances any :)

Paypal receipt said $176 shipped from Robotkingdom. BBTS have it listed "sold out" at 180, and Capturedprey have it listed "sold out" at 155

Just so people know: That was posted by someone in one of the Thundercracker threads, i don't know if they are or are not, a reliable source, and even if they are, things change.

Yes, I know, but most of those didn't come out so soon IIRC, with the exception of Rodimus who had QC issues.

Hasbro's release is a different thing altogether.

A rumor is a rumor. This one seems very reasonable, though :)

    My point still stands.

thanks all for chiming in. I'm located in California, and I did a few add-to-carts with the above sites to see what the total damage would be, and rk came put to 145 shipped at some point in time. maybe my memory is a bit off, but my earlier point still stands about spending $100+ on a peglegged remold when I can use the same amount on soundwave.

either hasbro gives me a starscream for under a Benjamin, or takara gives me a v3 starscream with ankle articulation and no clunky leg fins! :)
