Instead of Optimus, they should\'ve said that this was Ultra Magnus.  Just to change things up.

    That's cool for those interested.

Although it causes me to think that the days of a thousand (and often very niche-cool) repaints are over after MP-44. Much fewer people are going to double-dip for crazy paint jobs at $400 a figure.

I think the MP line is solid these days for BW fans, but Generations is killing G1 (in a good way).

That’s my feeling as well. I’d rather they use a less expensive mold for stuff like this. I hope if they do Pepsi Prime, he’s from MP-10 and not MP-44 because I sure don’t want to pay $450 for him.

This image, which has been reposted a few times today in this thread, answers all of these questions.

The only iffy part is if it’s a Comicon exclusive or just premiering at Comicon.

Personally, I would rather they reused the G1 mold for crossover and special edition OP repaints. The simple, flat design, coupled with the lower price point (and smaller size), would make it much more attractive to buy and collect for me. The flat design would also lend itself to interesting paint applications, IMO. Hasbro could start selling just the core robot in the same style as a Bearbrick.

Is the slime actually on the trailer or is just on the packaging? If you look at the flyer in the last pic it doesnt have any slime on it

99% sure the one on the flyer is a prototype and the one is package is the final toy.

The flyer version also has ghost trap caution stripes on the waist and knees and yellow crotch plates.

It’s hard for me to say either is final as the one in pics looks to have handpainted elements (esp. the Slimer) whereas the one in the flyer looks like a photoshop.

If we're lucky, Hasbro Pulse will have plenty.

In the comics we know that he has red forearm arrows:

Which would imply that the second deco is the right one.

Also, is there a connection between his backpack and ion blaster?

Frickin' love how they went all in with the new accessories.

So if this is meant to be a SDCC exclusive then I think it's safe to say we could possibly see a set that consist of Gozer from Siege Chromia and the Terror Dogs from TR Wolfwire?

I'm looking forward to seeing how well Hasbro handles availability of this (and other SDCC Hasbro exclusives) on Pulse as opposed to the blink-and-you'll-miss-it releases done before on Hasbro Toy Shop. I own only two versions of this mold (Hasbro's regular Prime release and Shattered Glass), but this is something I don't intend to miss to go with my Ectotron.

Given all the TV tie-in repaint suggestions, I'm shocked nobody has yet suggested a Prime version of the truck from the old BJ and the Bear TV series. :)

Poor MP-10. It really is the $10 hoe of the MP line. That said, I kinda like it? I thought we couldn't get stranger than BAPE and 7-11, and Evangelion, but they have made a deco to surpass Eva Prime

Wow, I didn't even notice that the gun platform/proton pack on the trailer actually attaches to Prime's back and has the hose into his gun!

They should make a Ghostbusters Shockwave - he already has a proton pack and a wand. :p

I came to this thread to see Ghostbuster Prime.
And leave it wanting the Scooby Doo Mystery Machine and, now, this.

The BJ and the Bear truck is such an obvious choice for an Optimus Prime toy. I would love to see this as a new Prime mold though, and not just a masterpiece repaint. That truck is awesome and deserves to be a brand new Prime toy.
