OK, I do some cutsom work, but nothing near what most of you guys are capable of, but here's what I'm thinking.. Ok, MP-10 comes with a tiny figure of Spike (or Daniel, depending on who you ask). He stands around two inches tall (just guessing, since I don't have a ruler handy.) He's not a bad figure at all, shoulder joints, hips and knees. Neck articulation would be nice, but not really that important. His paint is decent, but he lacks eyes (My one big gripe about him.) OK, before I get off topic here or cause people to lose interest in reading this, I'll get to my point. Optimus has TWO seats, his trailer has THREE seats and roller has One (working) seat. Right right? Right. OK, so, We have ONE human figure, but in the G1 series, there were more humans involved than just one. Spike, Sparkplug, Daniel, Carly, Wheelchair guy (sorry, don't remember his name). Those are the ones who stand out in my mind. (Stick with me people, I'm making a point here.) What's the chances Hasbro will release any other human figures? Most likely, zero. So it's up to the customizers and 3rd Party guys. We have Shapeways on our side too, so why not make a couple of the other characters? I know Impossible toys has made a few, but I'm thinking they are not in scale with this (they are smaller), correct? While I have no idea how to do 3d modeling to produce a figure like this, it seems it might not be too much of a challenge for some of the more experienced designers on the boards. It's also possible that maybe there are figures in this scale that can be re-purposed, but again, I have no idea. It just seems strange having one tiny human (all alone) amongst all these giant robots. I think he deserves family and friends. What do you guys think? Anyone willing to take on the job of designing some of the other humans in this scale? Anyone know where to find figures that are already being produced in this scale? I intend to keep looking for figures this size, but if someone wants to take on the mission of making some of them, let me know. Next, "Dead Eye Prime". Right? You guys notice this? His eyes don't reflect much light and end up looking, well, dead. I've had his head apart, no real room for an LED (although there is hope for the chest matrix, more on that some other time). It might be worth some cash to quite a few people to have this fixed. if you have access to the machinery needed to reproduce the eye part inside his head and se the vac-metal stuff (like on MP-01) people would buy it. OR, if you were really brave, you could try recasting the back of his head and making actual lightpiping! Now that would sell, right? Think about it. To finish off this long twisting post is another idea, also related to MP-10. How about a gas pump and hose thing for roller? Not just a resized G1, but a nice newly designed one, not a big demand item I guess, but you never know.. So, if you would buy any of this, post and let everyone know. Maybe with enough interest, someone will see the profit in it and make us some of this stuff and if you have the ability to make it, post and let us know so we can all whine and beg until you do!
As far as the hose is concerned, you can go to a home improvement store, such as Lowe's, and get some tubing for a hose. The ones I bought require a hair dryer to heat them up for shrinking them to their appropriate sizes. I think the other accessories would be cool. Hopefully (probably?), someone will take it on and be able to offer it to the fandom in an affordable price point.
