Sorry if this isn't news to anyone or that it isn't in the appropriate thread, but I couldn't find one.
I just got off the phone with toys r' us and despite pre-ordering very early (9/23) I was told MP-10 was back ordered and no release date was available. I find it a little concerning that the toy was shipped to the stores and the people who pre-ordered kinda got the shaft. Has anyone who pre-ordered actually received the figure yet?
I used to work for toys r' us and one of the managers that's still a little sweet on me looked it up on the ordering system and it showed that the supplying distribution center had none, and 500 on back order.
I can live without my "kid's toy" for a while longer but I find the lack of communication from the toys r' us website more than a little annoying.

Ok I'm going to make this quick to try and beat the AURGH crowd that will follow.
TRU.com receives separate shipments than Brick and Mortar stores.
Two orders for him were placed to Hasbro. They have thus far received the first one. The second one should be arriving "soon". Your preorder stands and you will receive your figure. When? I don't know.

I get that - it's just a seriously effed up way of conducting business. Seriously, how many other retailers conduct preorders in this manner. It's an expectations game and TRU is losing it, I mean I buy more than TRU exclusives.

A little condecending to say when he's using a forum to communicate his concerns, which are legit. When a customer preorders and is told a product will be available on X date, that is what they purchased, not some iffy assumptions about future delivery. TRU fail. If you don't enjoy a string of concerned collectors, move on.

Was not meant to be condescending at all. The simple fact is there have been several post upon the same subject that has resulted in some members in this fandom to get irritated reading the same old thing. I kept things brief and blunt to carry a quick, clear, and concise message in order to beat those type of posters. If you take issue with that please feel free to contact me VIA Pm instead of voicing your discontent here and not adding to the relevant conversation at hand.

Edit: BTW the second order is no "iffy assumption", and that is ALL I will say on that.

I wish Walmart didn't back out of stocking Masterpiece toys. They open earlier than Toys R Us but at least I never had trouble getting an MP Skywarp there.

I guess I'm not entirely worried because I already have MP-01 and like him very much. I preordered MP-10 from TRU because I just happened to catch it in time, but I think I could do without if it came down to it. I'm more anxious about 3rd party toys these days... want that steel core.

Careful. If a TRU order goes a month on backorder, they cancel your order without warning. That happened to me with a couple Vehicons once, and when I called about it they said its automatic after a month.

What reason would Thundertron have to troll regarding a topic such as this one?

    I'm serious.

When the Vehicons first hit TRU I ordered a few who quickly went to backorder status. I eventually got an email saying the order was canceled because their policy is 30 days on backorders and I flipped. I called their customer service and was told that there's no way to stop it or get the order back even though I was perfectly willing to wait...

I ended up getting them on amazon but I was still upset.
