Those eyes are a sin. I really wish I understood what the heck TT was thinking, as it seemed like a last minute change from some of the prototype pics that came out. All they had to do was the same eyes as MP-01. Those were perfect.

I finally broke down and painted mine this week. I'm really happy with how easy and better it makes it. I used this guy's guide - SHEWSBURY LAND: Painting the eyes of Takara Tomy MP-10 Convoy, although I think spraypaint is overkill (brush and an acrylic paint). The most interesting thing I discovered was that the back of the eyes have a foil paint application. I think they were planning on doing some light piping and scrapped it at the last possible moment.

Anyways, I'm glad it's getting a rerelease, and even with those eyes, it's an easy (but shouldn't be needed for what it costs) fix.

Hopefully we get a release in the U.S. for the 30th anniversary...

I actually dont think those eyes look bad at all. The lighter ones do look a little better though. haha. BTW, what color/paint did you use. I also agree a brush is enough for such a small feature.

Pretty cool...But the only thing I would want is that stand. I like the way it goes under the figure to hold it in place rather than the usual claw style. It would be cool if Hasbro\Tak sold that separately.

I used Gunze Sangyo Aqueous Hobby Color flat white and bright blue. It was roughly a 50/50 mix (I didn't measure exactly). The end result came close to the blue in MP Grimlock's eyes.

If there where pics of the alt mode on the flight stand I would be even more sure that I'm fine with the TRU version.

I prefer the blue tinted windshield but am honestly put off by how the clear one just looks like it's missing.

Ops is pretty good at getting people to buy items that where much less intensive to develop and produce than most transformers items. I can think of way better things than that stand. A teletran1 background that can stand at the back of a shelf or be supported by the trailer. It would be 10x10 and fold or be clipped together. The screen could take a sticker or you could clip soundwaves screen to it. Hmmm.

This is true for basically every MP release.

Here is what you are actually saying; "I don't understand why would anyone want a version of Grimlock that accessorizes all of his greatest moments from throughout the animated series."

Just issue the base. We are sick of stupid ideas that force us to buy another figure.

lol! Nobody forces you! haha:)  Yeah, exclusives are sometimes annoying when it'd probably be just as well received to do another standard release.

I'm anxious to see what this means though. If Hasbro Asia does this release, does that mean YOTH Optimus isn't MP10? That'll be a bummer. YOTH is going to be a good price. I can tell this one is not.

I'd display him with it, because what's better than a metal t-rex wearing an apron and bow-tie with a platter of drinks?

Again, I don't really care about the character influence for the items, although I never thought of him acting childish. That never occurred to me. I was probably enjoying G1 too much and not taking an 80s cartoon too seriously.

Yeah, judging by past Asia exclusives, I'm betting this thing is going to be sold by retailers for at least $300.

Out of curiosity did you think the Hasbro release was too much? The lesson here is to jump on them when you can.....with MP's surge in popularity they just go up in price.
