As I promised to OMEGAPRIME1983, I would put up the current pics of my MP Megatron. It's not as far along as I'd like, but it's getting there.

The legs are still a bit skinny, as I'm still trying to work out a suitable modification for them. But they're about 60% of Prime's leg width after i first modified them:

    The two together for scale:

I realize the photo is on a bit of an angle for the thigh comparison, so I took direct measurements (sorry for the blurriness):

Some work I did on his chest and midsection (I decaled and repainted them to the G1 box art/ stickers):

I also detailed the inside of the legs and the arms, repainting them to the red from the G1 toy and detailing it a bit further with a wash:

And of course, the head, which I redid to try to resemble the G1 toy a bit more (including the "inner black helmet):

I love the paintwork and mods you've made to the body, but that head is.... is... is reaallllyy not my cup of tea.

All the same, great custom. I thought I was looking at the original G1 Megatron.

I absolutely love the paint detail. The chest, abdomen and lower legs especially. I see what you're going for with the head but i think it needs i little more work.

    Thanks guys. :)

The head still needs a couple of more pieces for the "inner helmet" of the original G1 version. Also, the shadow in the pic is kinda hiding the "silver crown" that I did for the head.

vatarian: Yeah, the folks I showed this to either love or hate the head. But frankly, I'm not a fan of the "bucket head" version of Megatron, and I like the G1 toy version myself.

Death333: Any suggestions on what else I may do concerning the head? I know what I plan n focusing on, but I wonder if I may be missing something.

OMEGAPRIME1983: Yeah, I was going for the detailing on the G1 toy decals. I'm really happy with how those came out.

I'm going to be doing more work on him tonight. Stay tuned.

I like what I'm seeing so far! Is this still going to be transformable when you're done?

Absolutely!!! That's one of the reasons the modifications are taking so long; I am trying to keep the transformability of the figure intact, while improving the proportions and looks.

    Okay, a bit more work:

I got a clearer photo this time around. I also took and shaved down the sides of the helmet where it looked kinda weird. I'm still going to add in more of the black underhelmet, as soon as I can get to it.

    Stay tuned folks...

Okay, a bit of progress here folks:

    1) I finished putting in the helmet pieces; I think he looks even more ticked off now:

    2) I removed part of the grip/ side plates on his hips and added them to the side of the leg where the knee joint is. This serves tho thicken the knee joint and make the "chicken leg" go away a bit more:

Will post more as I get it done. Next is to add more plastic on the "red" side to reinforce the knee.

I actually preferred the helmet before. It might not have been as accurate, but I thought it looked nicer.

Yeah, a lot of folks like the other one. I just happen to be one of those folks who likes the G1 original toy version. :)

What can I say? :lol :
