Studio Series Optimus Prime is my favorite, but having previously owned one, I do agree that DOTM Optimus Prime is underrated. The solar panels are a kind of cool affect, and while the back of the truck mode is a little gappy, the robot mode is very clean, with the wheels on his arms really being the only truly intrusive kibble.

Found this guy at Walmart. Jazz was too small for me. I can see Hasbro rereleasing this guy with his masked face, spark extractor and gun face.

The differences between this and the old one are dramatic.

The only thing that bothers me would be the inaccurate wheels. To date, I think there's one KO that got the wheels right.

Either one's fine. Sideswipe was always my favorite movie-bot but maybe RoTF.

I did appreciate how a couple of the dotm figures tried to do something unique with the alt modes. Nitro Bee was awesome, but like I said, the prime fell short with me. I really wish we had gotten a few more stabs at unique stuff like that.

A few days ago quite a number of listings surfaced on Amazon. That suggest the following could be upcoming studio series releases.

    Sideswipe
    Dino
    Drift
    Barricade
    Hightower
    Crankcase
    And others

Now if these are studio series there is a sdcc panel Thursday from 11-12 that may or may not provide some insight to these.

Assuming that's what you are asking

I assume crankcase would just be a recolor but im all for a drift that finaly nails his movie design, might even be able to overthrow his generations toy

I still have his old generations toy. It's definitely aging.

I would think a release of Crankcase as just a repaint of Berserker would be an awful idea, considering Berserker was a peg warmer and Crowbar seems to be as well. A Hatchet, on the other hand, I would buy immediately.

Yeah I don't get the appeal of a Berserker redeco as Crankcase. I'm pretty sure they even decorated Crowbar in such a way that he complements Berserker, so that the latter can be repurposed as Crankcase.

If we treat the DOTM Voyager Prime as something that’s not meant to be accurate to what we see in the film,
but rather a “what if” Prime scanned a truck altmode specifically made for outer space and had a robot mode that reflected that, it is pretty cool solid mold with an interesting tranformation of a unique take of Movie-Verse Prime.
It goes well with the DotM Nitro Bumblebee too.

I would like a movie accurate Voyager scale figure of DotM Prime though.

Just that Dino sounds too unbelievable. Mostly because of the Ferrari licensing.

Yeah Mattel has it but that doesn't mean Hasbro can't use it if the right incentives are provided.

It's one of the unspoken rules of business say Hasbro is making an actual dino figure well Hasbro would need permission and as long as both companies make a deal for some of the $$ from the sales then a colberation is not off the table.

Main point I could see Hasbro asking Mattel to borrow the rights as long as both sides agree.

Or being Hasbro they could come up with there own veration clear it with Mattel and then put in on the shelf of stores around the world.
