Basically. If we are all saying Scrapmetal is the dude who gets torn apart in the ocean in ROTF then he wouldn't have been around to make Devastator so that's where this little guy came in. Given that he has no known robot mode, I give Bombusbee credit for creating something new and original.

Awesome trailer paint job and smoke-stacks, what paint did you use for the trailer? I want my trailer to be silver as well but what the correct paint for the job.

When I saw the photos of the NYTF 2020, which concern Blitzwing, I gave a positive evaluation for the robot mode, but definitely negative for the jet mode... that is not a Phantom F4! I made some comparison photos between the real aircraft and the two Hasbro version of: Blitzwing Energon igniter Plus and Blitzwing Studio Series... regarding the latter two, I noticed that the jet mode is almost identical, in particular for the large wings with a regular shape, completely different from the wings with the particular shape of the Phantom F4! In my opinion, the choice was due to an aesthetic factor created to hide a "design limitation"... the arms of the robot folded under the wings to position the two large missiles (that's why two larger wings were needed for the model... but apparently, not big enough to hide the two feet of the robot in evidence between the large and tail wings)! I'm sorry that for this choice, the total aesthetics of the airplane have been compromised... but I think that to perfectly combine, without drastic modifications, the particular robotic structure of Blitzwing with the equally particular one of the Phantom F4, only one project is needed "MPM" level (probably at the hands of some 3P company)!

 

A standard silver spray paint would be enough to do the job, but you could spray a layer of primer surfacer to allow the silver spray paint to adheres better to the plastic surface.

 

Ok, I've been fiddling with her (heh) for like 10 minutes and cannot find any slot to lock her wheels.

 

I had her way back in the day, and I'm pretty sure there was no such slot.

 

Actually, after a little more playing around, I discovered that, while the wheels don't lock into her chest, there is a small groove on the outside of each tire half that lines up with a protrusion in the piece they're attached to when folded in. It doesn't stay terribly well but it does keep the wheels from moving.

I opened mine today. Over 10 years of transforming Movieverse Optimus Prime toys prepared us for Studio Series and this leader class toy was the oh so sweet icing on the cake. This toy is damn awesome.

 

It's not perfect but its one of the rare times when I see something on the shelf and didn't even think about it, I instantly grabbed it.

Only real complaint is hollow turbines (i'm not very picky on hollow parts but in this case it's in your face hollow so that's a negative to me)

 

does anyone know a place selling scrapmetal for a decent price?
