He wasn't. Travis Knight even seemed disappointed when he revealed the character's name, and talked about how much he wanted to nail the Seeker body type... even though Blitzwing isn't a seeker.

I'm gonna guess Hasbro mandated that name for whatever reason. Probably because Blitzwing was an active trademark they could use freely.

 

Finally found these ladies at a local toy shop and they were $15! Couldn't be happier.


They're technically SS but they fit the original trilogy figures almost perfectly.

 

Trying to decide if I want to preorder Scrapper and Sentinel from Target during the sale, or just wait for a better sale down the line.

 

Scavenger arrived. Haven't had a lot of time to mess around with him, but he is pretty cool.


Also, batpod mode.

 

Preorder now and if a better sale appears cancel the order and get them for the better price.

 

He seems simple at first, but I have come to really appreciate the ingenuity of it. Considering it's a triple changer, for it to convert into 3 totally different shapes (4 counting the "BatPod"! haha great photo) and execute each mode quite well I think is pretty darn incredible. It really serves as yet another fine example of the creative and innovative progress the designers have made over the last decade; Voyager Demolisher to Leader Class Scavenger - yeah definitely.

 

Lol, it's like Devastator is growing up. He started off as a baby who could only crawl and then 1 year later we see him standing up as a toddler.

 

Totally agree! He’s the perfect example of “simple yet clever” design, which is my favorite type of transformers design. He’s also really fun and weird. I only wish the arm swivels were looser but it makes sense to have them tight for combined mode. I wonder if you can unscrew the screws a tiny bit to get easier swivel? Hmmmm...

 

I don't have the Nebular version, but I do have the DotM Target Exclusive (minus the missiles). Interested?

 

Mixmaster arrived today and it didn't make me long to combine him with Scavenger, Hightower, and Scrapmetal

And man, this thing is a beast. It's already so hefty and massive, and it's really only half put together. I can only begin to imagine the size and weight of the complete combiner. I'd say this guy is definitely Hasbro's most ambitious Combiner by a long shot, and the work they've been putting into it really shows

Now the wait for Scrapper and Overload is going to be even more unbearable!
