Correct! And yes it would be nice to get an update since mine is broken (the hip guns snapped off years ago) but for anyone who doesn’t want to wait then I highly recommend trying to track one down!

Question: I'm thinking about selling my Amazon Exclusive Jetwing Prime and getting either the APS-01U or MB-11 versions. Which would you all recommend? I'm leaning toward the MB version, since it has the mouth-plated face, and since I'd probably just get the FWI-04 upgrade in place of using the standard one.

However, MB-11 seems slightly harder to come by for some reason.

Ah. Photoshop and Lightroom are my BAEs for my personal photography, but I use InDesign more than anything else for my job. And I'm currently attempting to learn After Effects, which is just...a whole new breed of insanity.

 

I posted this in the Shockwave review thread, but I think it might be worth posting here as well:

I found another option for the weird heel spikes. I think works really well. You just rotate the vertical joint all the way around to the front and flip the entire piece up into the shin area. It actually stays in there really well too. Kind of just looks like it's part of the leg armor:

It limits the ankle tilt a bit, but not enough to bother me. The way it sits in there uses the natural placement of the pieces to its advantage. It almost snaps into place. Doesn't require cutting or modding and doesn't seem to stress the plastic in any way that I've noticed. Were it not for the fact that those pieces are holdovers from Megatron, I'd almost think it were intentional.

 

MB-11 will be the cheaper option overall. He's in stock at TFsource for $190. However, I never liked how that version looked because it swapped out the gunmetal plastic for drab gray plastic.



These pictutes don't show it very well but you'll notice on the shins and the biceps and hands that the gunmetal is changed to plain Has/Tak gray plastic.

I got my APS-01U used off of ebay and it really is a gorgeous piece. If you have the money to burn I definitely recommend that version.

Edit: There is also MB-17 which has the ROTF version chest but the paint deco is more of the muted gray colors like on the DOTM Striker Optimus Prime. That will probably be your cheapest option (BBTS has it for $110) but I'm not sure if the color palette is what you're looking for.

 

i dont think ill ever transform shockwave when i get him, i hope some 3rd party company does some new hips for him, they really bother me when i see pics of him
