Looks like Roadbuster's gonna be pretty tall for a SS carbot, same as Shatter and Crosshairs (if he ever gets a toy made).

All this time I thought he was as tall as Bumblebee.

I think a lot of the Movie designs cheated more than people realised, especially as the films progressed. Particularly when it came to car roofs. None of the designs bar Optimus' actually do anything with the roofs and windshields, which is why I find it kinda unfair when people complain about roofs sitting on the backs of a lot of the Studio Series figures. What else would you expect them to do on a $20 figure trying to replicate a very cheaty CGI model?

 

Unfortunately this is very true. The MPM Bumblebee, Jazz, and Barricade did a really neat job tucking away the car roofs and windshields, but that's to be expected of MPMs. Modern deluxes really don't have that luxury, but Studio Series tries their best and still gets flack, like on Lockdown who barely has any car parts on his model, so he gets stuck with a turtle shell.

On a separate note, I feel like Topspin and Leadfoot can probably carry over most of their engineering from the original figures, since they were always pretty solid. They could just use a face lift to better match the CGI model versus the concept art, and of course be more in scale.

 

Some fast paint additions and some shine , especially for the monoeye . And while looking at that Roadbuster , and seeing how evac shares the same shin and feet design ... kinda looking forward if they ever do a ss evac .

Haven't tried yet- are both Bee heads easily interchangeable (I had a feeling they would be)?

I think I'm finished now. Sadly after I started cutting, it became apparent I wouldn't be able to trasform him (I also had to cut into the hood). I had thought what I trimmed off over the wheels could probably reattach in transforming- butit wasn't enough and the hood had to be cut as well.

Still I rarely transform these deluxes and I like this much better. (and I'll probably get a second for the head and maybe car mode)
