I did the same to my trailer, and it took some trial and error to figure some stuff out, so I thought I'd pass my findings on:

first, those soft gray connector parts that hold the top pieces together should be covered up too when spray painting. They have too much friction against them when the trailer converts, and paint will immediately scrap off of it upon your first transformation. I cleaned them off with alcohol, then masking taped them up, and resprayed again.

It still looks fine with those parts being a darker gray, you barely notice it.

 

Thanks for your finding. I only applied thin coats of silver and top-coat, so I didn't have much trouble with the silver paint scrapping off from the connector parts that you just mentioned. The tight clearance is definitely noticeable after the paint was dry as you noticed, however. Mine still has enough clearance to not fully rub-off the paint, but just barely.

Speaking of painting...



While the top-coat on the trailer itself still needs some more time to completely cure, I went a bit farther than I originally intended and also painted up both the battle-axe and sword. with a more saturated shade of orange acrylic paint. Together with the newly painted "Driller-Buster" guns spray-painted with a bright silver color (Which are also have some paint applied at the front gun nozzles), these weapons are soon ready for some top-coat.

The airplane mode of ss Megatron is awesome and looks better than the mpm megatron, yet, the mpm design is much close to the movie. The mpm Megatron in plane mode looks like Megatron just lying on his chest to pretend a plane but not transformed to be a plane

Thank you! Share away. Surprisingly the chest didn't bother me in person, but I had the idea to sculpt a new chest clear back when he was first revealed. So I put my plan into motion the day I got him.

 

I'm unable to take a photo at the moment but the shape of the combiner piece (That connects to Scrapmetal) seems to be upside down. One side has a concave curve that looks like it was supposed to sit on high tower's neck in crane mode but on my copy, the curved side is up.

 

I know this is a shot in the air but I was wondering if anybody had a junker Studio Series Screamer. I've had mine for a bit now and he's missing those chest panels that fill in the gabs.
