I don't know much about these things, but I highly doubt that that was the case.

If I understand correctly, once Hasbro obtained the license to use the vehicles, as well as release the toys for them, in the way approved by NASCAR (weaponized), that should have also carried onto the toy as well.

But again, I could be wrong about that, since I don't know a whole lot about licensing.

It feels bland because it is less detailed than the other releases

Not necessarily. Both Sideways and Dino/Mirage transform into vehicles in their respective films that couldn't be licensed out to Hasbro to make toys of them, hence we never got Dino and Sideways just transformed into a vague approximation of an Audi R8

Ahh, that's good then!! But what the hell man, you holding out on me?? :p . Pics please!!
I get that, which is why I also said "as well as release the toys for them".

Hasbro clearly had the rights to make RB, since we did get his toy, sponsors labels and all.

Again, I'm not saying I'm correct, I'm just saying that I could see your point had we not gotten a toy at all.

Analyzing the photos of the gray Devastator SS prototype, I think I understand why, there are some "structural differences"... the reason is that there are additional components! For example, Hightower SS sold individually, without the "crane cables" because in the gray prototype they are in the "pulled cables" version, between the rear hull of the crane and the back of the left hand of the combiner (like the CGI of the film), in this way Hasbro has limited this detail, only in the most important version of the combiner; instead for the single robot, the lack of cables allows a more free arrangement of the crane arm, based on one's preference! An interesting modification is the shorter "vertical rectangular structure" of the crane... in fact, the longest structure of the prototype, gives the cables a "more square" layout... instead, by placing the cables on the official crane, the cables will have a "more triangular" layout (like the CGI of the film, photo 2)! Other components are the two side perforated panels, which serve to cover the "regular sides" of the crane, to give a more "cybertronian" appearance to the combiner's forearms (in fact, two other panels are also present at the sides of Scrapper, in right forearm mode...)! Instead, about the third component I have a doubt... the left thumb of the gray prototype, is formed by an additional "excavator arm", which hooks under the crane... there are two cases: 1) the "thumb" formed by the structure of the neck of Hightower SS, plus the crane claw, is temporary... and must be replaced with the additional component; 2) the "left thumb" of the gray prototype has been definitively replaced by the "structure" of Hightower! Having said that, my hypothesis is that the Devastator SS is equipped with some additional components that complete it (structurally and aesthetically)... other details that I noticed, I'll talk about it in the next post! The final answer we will have with the "Overload box", if they will be present or not, the additional components... but in case Hasbro doesn't realize them (opting for a more simplified version of Devastator...) no problem, I'll write to DNA Design and I'll show them my photos with the details in evidence, asking to make them... but before that, we await Hasbro's intentions for the new year! 1 add-on.png 2 crane cables.png

Considering Ferrari is the type of company to sue you for turning your own Ferrari into a limousine, I could see why Hasbro wouldn't want to take risks creating a Dino figure that transforms even into a Faux-rarri.

This is a GREAT analysis - thank you!!

I never thought about the potential room being left open for additional parts. Really good of you to point out those extra connection points on Hightower. Hoping we see Overload very soon to see what he may include - maybe he'll have those missile pods as well, to attach to Scavenger's shoulders.

I don't have Hightower in front of me right now, but where would the front end of a potential cable add on plug into on Scrapmetal - near the fingers? Maybe that's where the Shield can go?

Coincidentally, the only actual licensed figure of Dino also transforms into a vague approximation of an Audi R8.

That seems to be what I’m seeing. You’re set with every other Mpm, but Optimus and Megatron are the two that suffered most when it comes to paint. Good to know since I already have LT-02.

OK so I got this goofy little goofball in the mail today. First impressions are he’s not very posable but he looks so good! Funny how the street thingy is actually more plastic than the actual figure and twice as heavy!

Are you kidding me? I JUST got the black/teal one off eBay a few days ago! This one looks nicer :(

Honestly if Hasbro copied Challenger, and added a thigh swivel, as well as the updated head, I'd buy him on the spot
Haha!! Sell the new one and get this one..see, problem fixed :p

Would you recommend that little squeaker?? I kinda want him, but I've been on the fence on getting him.

DNA kit for Jetwing Prime, and it's both great and horrible.

    The Great:

He looks incredible in Jetwing mode. The backpack is much better, and the hips and legs are much more filled out. Plus the gun is awesome.

    The horrible:

Holy tiny screws. I get it, DNA kits are more involved, but the screws were super annoying. Plus with the find on the side of the legs, you have to remove the leg attachment each time, and I'm worried about the longevity of the mushroom peg there.

I likely will pickup a second Jetfire to just be Jetfire, and leave this Prime in this configuration permanently.

And these are the parts you have leftover. IMG_20191016_153642.jpg
