These new releases look so good. Makes me wonder what improvements they could apply to early SS releases even. Seeing the leaps and bounds made on these later waves in terms of detail and transformation I inagine wave 1 would be waaaayyyy different if released now lol.

In other news my Bumblebee Optimus arrived in Saturday with Voyager RotF Starscream. Starscream looks great although now I can’t decide which version to include in my main display. I thought to go for the clean look for once as I have always gone the tattooed route in previous display lines, makes more sense as a blending in TF too, but after seeing the tattooed F22 again, I remember why I use this appearance moreso.
Prime is great too. I find his lower legs a bit weak in terms of tabbing/ articulation, but it isn’t a massive issue. Definitely one of the great figures from the line.

I can think of a few improvements

1.Jazz: Clean up backpack a bit.
2.Brawl: Make the turret assembly able to be elevated slightly so it can rotate.
3.Blackout: Orient his hands in a way that looks less awkward.
4.Bonecrusher: Waist swivel and slight upscale.
5:Crankcase: Actually choose the right base mould.

That was an amazing time, but then we wouldn't have all these incredible and ultra satisfying SS and MPM figures to drool over! I do hope we get some news on whatever the next movie is soon. I want something to speculate over!
DAMN! I love the paint! I just hope his head doesn't look too small when attached to the full combiner.
Wow thanks for the side-by-side! I was worried that it was mistransformed or inaccurate but seeing it next to the movie still makes me realize what an awesome job they have done! I can't freakin wait for the next wave of ss figures to arrive!
Hah! I wonder! Or maybe it's a case of "there was a concept art for an alt mode"?

    He is ugly and disgusting.

    I. love. it.

Thankfully while transforming it I can make Devastator do the “EEEAAAUUGgH” that he does while combining lol

Man I don’t collect SS but every time I see devastator, regardless of limb, I always am tempted to get it. Don’t think an mpm size would be made, and don’t want to know how huge that would be.

So the (retail) Devastator head is revealed at last! I'm very glad that he has a posable jaw, one of my favorite things about the old toy was making him "eat" other Transformers

At first I was put off by this head, but I realized that's because the image in my mind is the inaccurate head used on the ROTF toys and the old CGI renders (actually, including the one they use on the Studio Series Constructicon boxes still!). But your comparison sold me... this is extremely movie accurate, scarily so! Of course he could always use more paint detail, but that's no big deal. Also LOVE how the head emerges from the cab in the same exact way it did in the movie. Bravo!

EDIT: I may be mistaken, but looks like maybe the lower jaw is two pieces connected? Maybe they can be spread out to better replicate the vortex maw?

"Our intel just received this. Alright peoples lets make this knock off happen in less then 2 months. You at the back there, are you even listening?"

With these leaks, I really think we will see SS Overload and Scrapper this weekend as well as the fully combined Devastator. Studio Series is just getting better and better.

I really want to see scavenger now. I’m curious how the neck and shoulder articulations are going to turn out. I’m hoping Devastator ends up being able to pull off jojo level poses

God he looks so perfect. Hope his stability is good with the giant arm cannon, but it looks like it so far

I don’t need Brawl’s turret to rotate, I just want the barrel to collapse and/or not dangle between his legs...
Blackout’s hand redo would be appreciated, and so would Bonecrusher’s upgrade.

I want to know if the combined mode will be strong enough to stand up straight. I’ve always loved that early Devastator concept art where he’s standing bipedally like a normal humanoid. If the SS figure can pull that off, I might just pull the trigger and get them all

    1. SS-01 - pretty much Clunker without the rust
    2. Stinger - Minor/Repaint: - Studio Series Stinger Backpack Stars
    3. Ratchet - silver paint on face, collapsible roof rack
    4. SS-05 - SS-32
    5. Lockdown - a smaller, more in scale Lambo mode as well as a taller robot closer to Battle Blade Bumblebee than ROTF Sideswipe
    6. Megatron - cover up the hollow back
    7. Brawl - collapsible turret
    8. Ironhide - collapsible bumper
    9. Bonecrusher - upsized to Leader size
    10. DOTM Megatron - could use better legs

Hopefully just 3 to 4 more days till they can reveal a fully complete color scheme devastator.

Ooh same here! I like the gorilla walk but I definitely prefer the “upright but hunched over” look from the concept art and the legends toy.
