Great photos with Bee and Jazz!
Oof, that actually makes sense.
Imagine watching an action scene shot up close with two massive piles of yellow scrap bashing against each other.
Score at Target!
Not gonna lie, I'm having quite a bit of fun with SS-46 Dropkick especially after knowing how the transformation works. I don't think car Dropkick is as awesome as Jazz or Starscream and the articulation is just standard, but he's miles ahead of some of the earlier SS releases like Stinger or Crowbar.
I'm imagining him playing Baker Street.
Really impressed with the recent SS announcements. Got my pre-orders in straight away so I don’t miss out lol.
2 things I wanna know asap though are 1) can Mixmaster do his ‘bellyflop’ artillery mode like the old Voyager - as simple as it was I thought it was pretty unique how he’d do a flip to fire a heavy cannon on his back
2) do I buy 2 Scavengers (1 for Devastator, 1 bot mode) or just stick with my one ordered and assume they’ll do a repaint to Demolishor which can be my robot representation of the wheel bot design.
That whole revival of Megatron scene was really weird and messy.
The overhead shot of the ship shows Long Haul, Mixmaster, Scrapper, and Red Rampage.
Then, when Ravage lands, it shows Mixmaster, Scrapmetal, and Yellow Rampage.
You can see Yellow Rampage much more clearly in this shot where Scrapmetal’s crane moves.
Then Ravage, Long Haul, Mixmaster, Scrapper, and Red Rampage dive into the ocean. That’s 5 enemy contacts. This comes into play later.
So, Scrapper (really Scrapmetal) dies, Megatron’s revived, and they start rising up to the surface. So this is where it gets even weirder. The guy in the submarine says that there’s 6 contacts coming up, as opposed to the 5 that came down.
But since Scrapmetal died, there’s still 5 contacts coming up. So what is the sixth contact? Grindor? Did the wave of energy after Scalpel rammed the shard into Megatron revive Blackout, Bonecrusher, and Brawl? Maybe that explains why Grindor was in the Forest Battle, Bonecrusher was in the Desert Battle and Brawl was in Chicago Battle. But why only 6 and not 8?
1) It doesn't look like Mixmaster can do his belly flop, it looks like he doesn't have any weapons to begin with (A trait most Constructicons have).
2) I would buy 2 but keep one in MISB, that way if there is a Demolishor repaint you can sell the duplicate.
Love those 3 gang sockets.
Honestly, this upsets me a bit, could you imagine an actual badass scene where the fallen Decepticons from the first movie Megatron, Blackout/Grindor, Bonecrusher and Brawl awaken in the depths of the ocean only to then start thrashing the humans above them
That was exactly what I had in mind
I was a little worried about Shockwave's tank mode so I did some investigating. I found out that the official pictures were mistransformed (shocking, I know), and the pieces in robot mode that made his heels look long are actually supposed to cover up his head in tank mode just like the original ROTF Megatron mold did. Sorry if everyone already knew this but it was interesting to me.
On another note, Shockwave makes the fifth Leader Class figure to come with at least three accessories. Grimlock came with nothing but he is very tall; Blackout came with Scorponok; Jetfire came with his cane, his axe, and an extra ab piece for Optimus; Optimus came with a trailer/jetpack, two cannons, one rifle, a sword, an axe, and a shield; now Shockwave is coming with Brains, Wheelie, and a paratrooper. The constructicons (so far) aren't coming with anything but looking back on past releases, they could easily include the missile pods spotted on the Devastator prototype or a few guns like they did with Optimus' chest piece with Jetfire.
If we were to get a leader class Sentinel Prime that was in scale with DOTM Leader Optimus, DOTM Leader Megatron, and DOTM Leader Shockwave, I could easily see him coming with his double bladed sword, his shield, his rust cannon, and maybe a few space bridge pillars with the NEST cases. The future is definitely exciting.
Man it's gonna be a long wait till we get better pictures and previews of these guys. I don't even care that much about reveals, I'm basically happy right now.
You said it man, 07 was the only one I actually liked. Every robot character gets the chance to do something badass in 07, even the cons. Too bad they didn't continue like that.
Thankfully, I have a much better bot mode representation now. This alt is still epic though. Even gave it some (in progress) paint apps. Good enough for the "endless pool."
Oh I almost forgot.... SCALE!!
I received leader dotm Optimus and Long haul.
Optimus is awesome, especially since I skipped the SS 32 voyager because I knew this was coming.
Best Optimus toy in my opinion.
Longhaul though... He looks great but otherwise he's a bad figure compared to SS in my opinion. Articulation is extremely hindered. Once you lift the legs up the thighs can't be rotated outwards killing lots of poses. The arms are ok but obviously limited and annoying. The vehicle mode is an uneasy mess. May be me doing something wrong but I haven't seen it done right so who knows. Transforming him to vehicle mode just doesn't feel good
On the other hand the leg mode is a positive surprise. Very sturdy and tabs together well. The size difference with Rampage is hardly noticeable in hand (long Haul is a slightly bigger foot)
Foot: 9/10 (because he doesn't have two toes)
Love this guy!
Oh and of course:
Rescued this second-hand DOTM Skyhammer from a collector's store a few hours ago for MYR 85.
I'm always curious about this figure and wanted to get it way back in 2011 (but never did); For the price of a current Deluxe class figure, it's quite a good deal.
That human figure will haunt my dreams forever hahaha
