I've been looking at dotm Optimus and it got me thinking, the turbines are on mushroom pegs, what would happen if you switch them around? Would it affect the transformation?

 

Passed it up as it was off model and reviews gave the impression of it not being a good toy. Was genuinely excited to get one, but now would not even take one for free to be honest.

I like the energon igniter version better, and I went to get that one, but it sold out before I could get it. Better head, better proportions.

 

I actually love it. My 1st copy was defective as it came without the front turret.

Fortunately Kapow had one on sale for 9.99 and so I bought another. I am into the alt modes for the studio series and for someone who likes to build scale models of aeroplanes and such, I think it's just beautiful.

 

I don't hate it, but I won't buy it.
Will keep an eye on 3P ones.

 

My bad, I totally forgot that they got one entire kill that wasn't a weak old man, a flimsy motorcycle or one that's completely reversed by the end of the movie.

 

Does anybody know the rough scale of the SS and MPM lines (specifically for the robot modes)?

Does anyone who has dotm OP have a good pic of all the weapons stored in the trailer when it's in trailer mode? I'm having a hard time figuring out how to fit everything in there.

 

I know this figure is a disappointment to many due to the lack of paint, lack of accuracy, scale, and hollowness. I personally think that the fact that this figure exists is proof that Hasbro listens to their fans. My previous set up like this cost me $300 with a third party trailer and jetwing to display with my striker Prime, but this whole set up only cost $50. I think that's a pretty great deal!

Just got my DOTM OP and @Shmoptimus Prime was right, he's much tighter than SS32 with far better tolerances. I guess I'll just have to paint him too!

The grey of the trailer doesn't look as bland in person as it does in the photos, not to say that it looks good, though.

Going to wait to see if Reprolabels will be helping this guy out - they skipped SS32, so hopefully they come through this time.

EDIT: only complaint is that the paint application of the flames + fade has a thin line showing at the edge

 

Finally, a version of Drift that isn't fat with car kibble! I think he looks great and the color palette is very pleasing.

-1 point for no wrist articulation
-1 point for small feet

Out of curiosity more than anything, how does SS-44 Optimus look next to SS-34 DOTM Megatron in vehicle mode, with the trailer attached? I know the truck cab is a fair bit smaller, but I'm curious how they look next to each other overall

concept mode based on the artwork. i find this more pleasing to eye. the advertised pose to me is more of an attack mode. robots in disguise...

 

So what are the odds we see a Studio Series RotF Jolt? I actually own a Chevy Volt (was my dream car) and while the color isn't the same (mine is more of a cobalt/lighter blue) I still would absolutely love to have an updated version of him.

I also am curious if they'll end up doing the twins (especially an update of their ice cream truck mode) or if they're gonna try and sweep them under the rug.

There's still so many characters they can do that I'm genuinely questioning if we'll actually end up seeing them or not.
