If money isn't an issue I say get the MTB version. I think I saw somewhere that the flame parts on that one shine brighter than the Hasbro one when light is shone through it.

But if you think you can paint it better than the MTB and want to save money, you can buy the Hasbro copy. The MTB is just cast in grey plastic and has abit of silver dry brush, nothing too special and it's missing the red paint on the sides of his abdomen that was in the movie. You could probably make it look better with some gunmetal and metallic paints.

If it was up to me, I'd want whichever one that didn't have a crooked mask, although there's no way of knowing the QC problems until you actually buy them. I bought like 3 different copies until I found one with a mask that wasn't crooked.

I think the voyager beats the leader class in robot mode, but the leader has the best alt mode.

I gotcha. I know there's an OSKO version of the voyager class, but I think he's too big to scale with the leader. So the leader is definitely the best bet then.

 

MPM ironhide is very awesome!! His shoulders are loose, yet, it can be fixed by the upcoming upgrade kit for mpm ironhide!!

I too, keep my MPM Ironhide with regular deluxes.

By the time they released a 3rd version of Rendsora that finally came with the mask gimmick like the Leader class, Unique Toys TLK Megatron was already revealed. Good thing I never bought a Rendsora, I prefer the sleeker design on Dragoon

Does anyone knows what the engraved numbers at the back of the studio series box signifies? I have two identical SS as below pictures but with different numbers as an example.

 

That stamped-in serial number is a batch number. It indicates when, in the production schedule, the toy was manufactured.

Sometimes, when there is a small fault in a toy, the manufacturer will make a change to the toy midway through production, such as adding a new peg, or gluing together parts to prevent them from coming apart.

By knowing what serial number to look for, thanks largely to the assistance of the incredibly useful fans who post such information on this forum, you can determine whether the toy you are buying is an early run toy or a later, "corrected" toy.
