Oh wow, the kit actually does contribute a lot. It makes the original slightly unappealing to me although the original isn't bad.
    Concept Series.

He'll be a little big for the SS line, as he'll be 11" tall, but I think he'll look really good with Jazz hanging on him!!

Nice score though!! SS38 is definitely one of my top 3 SS figures!!
I agree!! I was about 90% satisfied with the their combined look, but it's more like 40% now lol.

Oh for sure, too big for SS, but a great leader class replacement if dream factory isn't your bag. And yeah, SS38 prime is awesome. Not overrated as suggested in the review thread. I really just needed a chug prime since mp01 and universe prime were my first tfs, and are no longer intact/gone. This design has all the right stuff. I can't wait for the dotm SS optimus, as I passed on the first two. The trailer oughta work perfectly with 38. I like that the leftover gun and axe from the universe prime I had work with him.

How or why did the treads on your Bludgeon toy melt? My copy is still in great condition.

Yeah... The rubber is soft, but not enough to be tacky or melt after 10+ years. Mine are in good shape. They've always sagged under the shoulder armor though as a result of being in tank mode all the time.

⬇EDIT: No, Megatronia, none of the plastic has melted at all. Just sagging from pulling the treads down to tab them in. I can loosen the shoulder via the screw and put the treads back up in their cavities (doesn't bother me anyway). I repeat, no damage/melting to any of the plastic at all. I have never heard of this problem and never saw any evidence of so. I strongly recommend this figure, still. Always will be a favorite.
EDIT 2: I ate my words... After taking my shoulders apart, there are signs of the plastic around the rubber melting in them. The tread posts even broke, but it went back together. If it does anything outside of the shoulders I'll take the treads off... Sucks it's on such a cool figure.
EDIT 3: Treads are OFF. I don't wanna let it get worse, so snip snip they go. Maybe a replacement kit will be made or I can kitbash new ones.:banghead:

SHORT ANSWER: Check out this thread, please.

LONG ANSWER: As Deathhead said, the rubber treads cause the hard plastic to melt over time and in some cases possibly irreparably damage the limds. The possibility of this happening is 50/50 due to some people lucking out and possibly having rubber with a mixture of compounds that don't melt the plastic. But it's still too large a percentage for me to take the chance. HEnce why I'm crossing my fingers and hoping Hasbro or a 3rd party makes a Studio Series scaled Bludgeon or Banzaitron in the future.

At first I thought this was a @DocSeth81 photoshop. Then I realized that the circle shadow was missing. Finally I read your post.

How would rubber cause the plastic around it to melt? I have never heard of such thing.

Bludgeon is only 1 of 3 movie figures I kept from my original collection. I wish I had held onto Banzaitron as well. Excellent figures.

Apparently its a common issue. It's new to me.
PSA: New toy plastic condition discovered (abandon all hope)
Mine looks good so far. Only time will tell I guess.
EDIT: Aaaand I took the shoulders apart. There really are signs of it on the posts where the treads are attached, but not noticeable outside of the shoulders. The posts even broke a bit. Managed to put it back together, but I bet it'll get worse.:(  If it migrates to areas outside of the shoulder armor, I'll take treads off. Check yours a little more, @newmanium .

My bludgeon, don't know if it's melted, but the tread hinge on the little folded part at the end disintegrated so he's now missing a small piece of tread as it simply fell off.

Fuck, i'm stressing out about this melting plastic issue. Both my ROTF Demolishor and HFTD Banzaitron are at home, in alt mode, on a wooden surface. I'm currently at university and won't be home for another month or two, so i'm unable to check if they're affected.

Are they going to stick to the surface?
