I am based this on the figures we've gotten so far, using Optimus as the benchmark and obviously it is my own opinion and I stated as much.

The Ice Cream Truck Twins were actually based on a 1930s Chevy Truck, not a beetle. As such they could be a small Voyager or a large Deluxe.

1) I honestly can't keep track of all the Bees.

2) Huh, I could have sworn we had rumors of the final dread... must have been thinking of Berserker.

3) Crosshairs would be nice but I honestly think the last toy he got works fine.

4) My problem with the leaders is with Prime scaling. Prime should be almost the same height as Megs and Sentinel and Shockwave only a touch bigger. Every photo I"ve seen of DOTM Megatron has him TOWERING over Optimus and making him look like a child... I don't want that for Sentinel of M1 Megatron.

 

Time to call Obi-Wan Kenobi!!

Nope it for sure is a custom car build on a VW Beetle chassis.
I can not find the making off I had before but take a look at Skidsflap next to the Chevy concepts witch were on the Chevy Sparks platform (beat and trax I believe?)

you can actually hear the beetle engine if they drive the thing to and as a nitpicker I would like to point out the 1967-1972 VW Beetle windshield on the icecreamtruck.

Totally get that - unfortunately many early pictures that compared these two had Megatron's legs fully extended when they're supposed to be fully bent, chicken-style. Fully bent, he's just about the same height as ROTF Megatron who is roughly a head taller than SS32 Prime (which is about right scale wise).

Considering they have shown that they are willing to go even smaller on the Leader size (based on WFC Siege), I think they could make it work, personally.

 

Sorry but I don't see it. When I look at the Ice Cream Truck I don't see a beetle at all. I see a small, old fashion truck. As for the sound every engine noise is put in post production so that can't be used. As pointed out on this very site, the truck is a custom based on this vehicle


Thus a large deluxe (around Ratchet size) or small voyager. Deluxe would be better but I could see them, due to cost of engineering, going with a large size class and price point.

Do you have any photos of the correct transformation of Megs next to SS Optimus? I am honestly curious.

And yes, if they went smaller Leader for M1 Megatron and Sentinel, I'd be fine with that. Sentinel though HAS to be the same height as Optimus... I've watched all their scenes again recently and they stand eye-to-eye. Megatron can be slightly bigger, but Sentinel can't be.

The robot modes are pretty good, in my opinion. We never really see the twins in their Ice Cream form next to any bots but with VW Bee they actuallylook pretty nice.

 

the vehicle you show there is a European Ford Transit van from the sixties.. it is bigger than a Beetle and if you just look at the picture with the movie icecream truck and people in it, youll see it is TINY.
It IS Based on a Beetle but if you want to believe it is a 1930's chevy sure.. (just don't show a european Ford then) it is fine by me..
Just don't look at this picture with a (obviously larger) Opel Astra parked behind it

I have a dilemma. I can't decide between displaying DOTM SS Megatron with DOTM SS Optimus Prime or DOTM Ultimate Optimus Prime in his base robot mode.

Ultimate Optimus Prime scales better in robot mode and in vehicle mode with all the other Studio Series Autobots but doesn't scale well with Megatron in truck mode.

SS Optimus Prime scales better in vehicle mode with DOTM Megatron but scales horribly in robot mode with Megatron since I think Megatron looks bad with his legs super chicken-legged.

 

Unfortunatly he is waaaaaayyyy to big to scale with the Studio series in altmode,
He should be slightly smaller than Jazz.
As robots they do scale well trough.

We want to share your consern with you.. but.. 

 

I'd rather have Studio Series versions of Skids and Mudflap in their DOTM or ROTF forms.

 

As do I! the ROTF versions would work quite well cause they will add even more color to the autobot ranks (and they were barely seen in DOTM)

 

Yeah, but I'd like their ROTF forms (Their own forms not the ice cream truck) as they weren't really in DOTM. We need them so yeah, like @erwinsims (I think, correct me if i'm wrong) said, pack them together as small deluxes and them give them a voyager price point.

 

That is EXACTLY what I am saying.. Make them small deluxes and sell them as a voyager! You can later do a repaint of them and sell them as AOE KSI drones.. they would make better KSI drones than a Pagani (the KSI drones we see are all chevy Trax-es)

 

True but they did have toys made for DOTM and they were spotted on set so they could still be made as an exclusive through Hasbro Pulse (like that new G2 Megatron figure) or a regular retail release.

And here they are with VW Bee in vehicle mode. I personally think they fit well together. A touch too big for some but I feel it is pretty darn perfect.
