Yeah all the 3p look great. Can’t wait for soundwave and that hot rod, hoping it’s better than the other 3p hot rod that had horrible reviews. As for Ironhide the main issue seems to be the tabs, whereas the transformation just takes practice some people got it well. I personally am waiting for LT to do it and fix the tabbing.

Oh by the way. Did anybody mention that a certain movie got its mass release today?

Yeah. That soundwave does look very nice. Although I probably won’t get him since I’m only collecting AoE and Bumblebee with just a hint of TLK and DotM.
And yeah I hope they get around to that ironhide ko. That’d be nice to have. Especially if they make a red version.

I've made my peace with SS Beetlebee's doorwings, since the rest of the figure is passable enough to the onscreen character. Now I just view it the same way as Ironhide's bumper, Brawl's turret, Ratchet's roof rack, and the like, which all don't bother me in hand (I did the roof rack mod for the 07 version but kept the DOTM Ratchet as is, just for fun)

Yeah. You can mod it. I’ve seen people just simply taking them off on clips. But the thing is it’s not the wings that just frustrate me. As they could happen in the movie and the older renders don’t look awful. It’s the backpack. Just how big it is and that the figure is so small. It just annoys me. And what’s worse is the MPM did the same but only slightly better.

since it reuses most of the TLK/SS01 transformation, the backpack is inevitable unfortunately.

Let's just give that a logical thought.

First it would be really badass, but that is larger than any current Titan Class figure. And when I owned Metroplex and Fort Max both could only fit on my top shelf and in my previous house they had to be posed in stooped positions because of my ceiling height.

Additionally, that's the size of a child. The amount of plastic would be unreasonable even for a KO company. And with trying to meet a budget that plastic quality would be really awful. On top of all that the quality of the toy would be garbage, because why would they pay for all the engineering/tooling that it took to make the non-MP Jetfire.

And the last thing I can think of would be the price we as the consumer would pay for an MP Scale Jetfire. Hell, Unite Warriors Devastator was nearly $200 when it was released. And that's for 18 inches of plastic, which is only half of the near meter proposed.

Second on my list is the not-so treacherous Doritoscream!

I gotta admit I wasn’t very interested in him at first because I didn’t like the character very much and thought the ROTF Voyager was good enough. Despite that I gave in thanks to being on discount, and also because I decided to purge my old toys for SS.

I sadly don’t have anyone to compare him with, other than carbots, so because of that this review won’t have as many pics as my last.

    Robot mode
First hand impressions are great. He feels tough and bulky! Compared to the ROTF this one feels heftier and more athletic.

His colors look great and feel premium for a mainline figure.

I appreciate how clean he looks from the back. ROTF had a slim, compact backpack, but SS went the extra mile by making it look good with all that sculpted detail.

Articulation is impossible to top. My problems with the ROTF figure were the sloppy legs and awkward arms, SS fixes and makes them even better! The arms are on ball joints, which give him a lot of personality.

Poor Blackout’s gonna have the time of his life...

Head doesn’t go up and down, making him feel stunted but I’m fine with that since his CGI model doesn’t look built for doing such a thing.

Overall perfect robot mode with nearly no flaws.

    Jet mode
I don’t own the DOTM Deluxe, so I have no idea which parts were borrowed and which parts are new. Despite my unfamiliarity Starscream is the smartest, most intuitive Voyager I’ve transformed in a long time. Everything just makes so much sense and it’s so freakin fun!!

Jet mode is a bit kibbly on the underside. It’s unfortunate because above that mess is one fucking beautiful F22! I have no idea what color this thing is, but it sure looks spot on.

The weapon plugs into the rear engine and looks quite nice. I guess the bronze-ish color allows it to pass as flames and not look to shabby like most in-vehicle weapon storage systems. Too bad he didn’t come with the buzzsaw, but to be honest I don’t care enough to get the ROTF repaint just for it.

Wheels sadly do not roll, the only flaw of the figure. Cost cutting, I guess.

Great jet with a few unfortunate problems.

    Final verdict
At first SS Starscream looked like the perfect recipe for a figure to pass on; I had a decent toy of the character already (ROTF), the figure didn’t improve much on its predecessor like Blackout and Jazz, and with prices in my country he was my least wanted SS alongside Bee and Prime.

After a day of handling, I’m glad I picked him up because he’s one amazing figure! I can’t believe it’d be possible to top ROTF, seeing how it looked so perfect next to Movie 1. This is the best Starscream toy we’ll have in a long time until someone fixes his underside and give better paint, get him while he’s hot!

Thanks for checking out once again!
    Blackout’s review will be tonight.

I went Walmart looking for a replacement tonight, and they had a HUGE Bumblebee display. They had a ton of the DOTM Ratchets, Crowbars, and the Lockdown repaint..forgot his name..But no Beetlebee.

It seems Beetlebee had already become a hard to find item, as Amazon has him $35, free shipping. But I'm unsure that I wanna pull the trigger at that price

I'm thinking about just getting the 2 pack at Target, since I do need TLK Bee.

Getting the figure has made me more appreciative of Starscream's design. The triangular body, lanky arms and chicken legs make for a unique looking robot. Plus the alt mode paint job is gorgeous!
I just wish this or the ROTF figure included the mini gatlings he used so often.
