Like AOE and find TLK enjoyable even with its flaws. Favourite characters are the main AOE Autobot casts, I tend to love dysfunctional family dynamics and these group of Autobots definitely feel like it.

Fav movie is probably Age of Extinction honestly. Despite its indefensible issues (terrible dialog, pacing, ratio shifting, blatant product placement, and the underage dating law), it’s got my favorite robot cast and is playing with some really fun TF lore and concepts. Forever sad that the “Creators” as the villains weren’t the direction we went in for 5, and the planned 6. Ah well…

As for favorite bots? Here’s my faves per film:

    TFTM86- Kup, Arcee, and Springer
    TF07- Optimus Prime
ROTF- Sideswipe and Jolt (great design)
    DOTM- Sentinel Prime
    AOE- Crosshairs and Lockdown
    TLK- Hot Rod
    BeeMovie- Shatter and Dropkick
    ROTB- Airazor and Optimus Primal
    TFOne (trailer)- Elita and D-16

TF07 has a special place in my heart. I re-watched it recently and it's honestly a fun ride with some genuinely cinematic moments. Also the forest fight in ROTF was probably THE coolest thing I had ever seen when I saw it (I was 13). I was big into the movies at the time-- I realize now it was probably just the visual appeal of it. It was like pure distilled stimulation to the brain, and it still makes me really appreciate all the work that went into the CGI in that original trilogy. Particularly for the time-- there really wasn't anything quite like it. It definitely sucked me back into the franchise. I was still watching the Unicron trilogy on and off at the time, I THINK. I knew about Hot Shot before Bumblebee, and had that "wait, that's NOT Hot Shot?" moment, but it really was the 07 film that got me actually diving into the brand's histories out of sheer fascination with the characters, and, essentially, WHY these characters. Ironhide was my favourite. I probably thought "If that's not bad ass, I don't know what is!"

I'm also like, morbidly interested in the Bumblebee movie -- it's status as a reboot/preboot/prequel/whatever, and how it provided such an impactful fresh start to the cinematic Transformers movies, and was followed up in the worst way possible. Like how do you possibly follow that up with Maximals, Unicron, Bay Prime, GI-Joe? How do you even? How could they have possibly thought that would succeed. They had every opportunity to do it right and it is absolutely insane how poorly they followed up on Bumblebee. I actually do still think Rise of the Beasts is one of the better live-action Transformers films on its own, but broadly speaking it is one of the most insane things to have happened in this brand's history, and I think it took some time for that fact to sink in for me.

Transformers One is starting to grow on me though, and I really do think this is going to get a lot of people into the brand. I think that moment when the casual movie-goer realizes there is a legitimate amount of lore to these films and piquing interest is a pretty common turning point that makes someone a fan. And I think this set-up with Orion Pax and D-13 is going to make people unfamiliar with Transformers interested. I was never too fascinated with the Optimus Prime and Megatron dynamic in Prime, but a lot of people were, and still are. Brothers turned enemies is a very classic trope, but it works for a lot of people, and I think a lot of people were interested in Prime BECAUSE of this dynamic. This movie looks super over the top in a Hollywood sort of way, but tbh there are so many worse ways it could go. Orion Pax has a clear personality and goals, and Hemsworth sounds like he's kind of nailing it.

TF1 will always hold a special place in my heart. It's a classic.

I watch ROTF last night on HBOMax. I haven't watched it in years. The film brought back a lot of good memories. College years. I know people dislike the film, but to me, I always enjoy myself. That was Bay's intention. Summer movies are suppose to be fun and enjoyable.

DOTM is a solid film. No complaints here.

AOE. I allowed critics to prevent me from seeing the film, but when I watch it two years later, I was blown away. No military and good action.

TLK was 100% garbage! Seriously? You could tell Bay was tired of the franchise and wanted to move on with life.

Bubblebee movie is a classic. They got it right!

ROTB is 100% solid, in my opinion. I purchased the 4K Blu-ray on release day.

I agree with all your statements except TLK since I enjoyed it, but at the same time, I see why people dislike it (and 07 doesn't hold a special place in my heart, but ROTF does)

Yeah, I must admit that it's pretty cool seeing Prime take 'em all on (I literally wrote that without intending to make a reference and just realized I ended up doing so anyways lol) and call Megs a waste of metal

I'm always a sucker for robo-bloodshed, so it was quite fun seeing Grindor get his face ripped in two, and Megatron's killing Prime was enjoyable to watch (I've reused that method of killing in my stories several times with any characters that have guns with blade attachments)

I need to give ROTB a rewatch i've forgotten most of it. Big fan of BBM and the 1986 film. I have a hard time keeping favorites for transformers, optimus and jazz come into mind, as for decepticons they've gotten some really cool designs throughout all the films my favorite would be Battletrap

I watch DOTM again. It'll always be a solid film, I wish it was edited better. The film brought back a lot of memories because I was homeless in 2011.

DOTM despite being really good always felt weird to watch. Its almost as if the movie was rewritten 1000 times and thats why some parts are edited weird.

DOTM really did have a feel for being 'This is the last one. We mean it.' -At least until AOE was announced like a year and a half later.

I think the first 5 are all mostly horrible films with really juvenile humor and annoying characters that makes them really hard to sit through. I have plenty of nostalgia for the first three but after rewatching them recently I'm happy to just leave them in my memories.

That being said, I do like a great deal of the designs and think they did a good job on them, the Decepticons are especially cool. I think Blackout is the standout design.

Yea it's why they pretty much kill every big named desepticon to ensure a sequel wouldnt happen... and it still did

My favorite has to be dark of the moon! Aside from the first movie, I was constantly checking the progress bars for all the other movies (especially on revenge of the fallen) because i just never really felt like my mind was invested into it. For dark of the moon, I feel like it went by SO fast, and told a really cool story.

I'm not sure if this is like a general thread but since the last few posts were on Dark of the Moon:

Seeing this and it's shocking to me how they reused the explosions 4 times:

That scene is incredible, but the explosions too much screw up the experience a bit, it is still the most epic scene in Transformers films followed by ROTB Autobots and Maximals Rollout :)

One thing about AOE that never made sense was the fight between Lockdown and Cade. Seriously?! The man must've had superhuman strength to have a full on sword fight with Lockdown. Did anyone else find this interesting?

I just finished watching ROTF for the fourth time (seriously), and a few things hit me:
    1. After Megs was resurrected, he flew to one of Saturn's moon where Nemesis crashed landed. How'd he get there so fast? A trip from Earth to Saturn will take seven years, but Megatron completed it, in what, a few days?
    2. Prime had to take on Megatron, Starscream, and Blackout by himself in that forest scene. If Ironhide, the Autobots weapons specialist and veteran officer or Bubblebee would've intervened, Prime would've been alive, but it makes a better story with Prime dead. Still, they're always leaving Prime to handle the big jobs himself. Not fair, in my opinion.
    3. Editing was extremely poor, in my opinion. Did Bay set through the entire movie before it was released? Like in DOTM, AOE, and TLK, some of the film should've been cut.
    4. When Megatron says, "Began our assault!", Decepticons came falling out of the sky. Where did they come from that fast? Cybertron? If so, how?
    5. Sam called Bubblebee a "car". After the fight with Rampage, Sam told his parents to get into the car (Bubblebee). Out of respect, he should've said, "Go with Bubblebee".
    6. Telling Prime to "Get up!" was out of line! The guy just came back from the dead with no strength. Good thing Jetfire was there and he gave his life for Prime! In a way, Jefire saved the day.
    7. The Fallen is a lot bigger then Optimus! With Jetfire's parts courtesy of Jolt and Ratchet, Prime's size, speed, healed his wounds, and strength increased exponentially! At the Sphinx, when Prime dropped the booster and gun, he was buff on some bodybuilding sh*t!
    8. Megatron was weak! The US military were able to push him back. In TF1, the US military had to use heavy bombs to barely slow him down, but due to Megatron's healing factor, that wasn't enough. Also, Prime folded him in half. Why'd Prime and the military just let him go? He was too damaged to transform.
    9. Devastator was completely useless and weak. A kick from one of the twins took out half his face and one hit from a bs rail gun destroyed him. I shake my head in shame everytime I see that.
Overall, I'd give the film 3/5. HBO Max says it's critically acclaimed. Ok. It's a good film in its own way. In 2009, I was my final year in college, so good memories.
