It means, it is a little to blocky for my taste and/or my opinion

I'm part of the many TFTM enthusiasts I prefer these designs over any G1/G2/BeastMachine/Beastwars/Energon/Universe/Armada/Animated/Headmaster designs, I'm sure I have forgot a few in that laundry-list, but I like the disappearing parts theory and the humanoid look...

There's way too much mass above the hips, and the attachments at the shoulders are just too cumbersome. The torso is too tiny to support all that. The body design on this thing is awful, and would look silly in motion.

Popping a G1 head on this, however smart a move, doesn't make up for the rest of the design, which is crap.

Truth. Then again, when it comes to the Movie, I don't think visual homage even matters that much anymore. As long as the name is recognizable, these things could literally turn into toasters & golfballs and some people would think it's the most brilliant forward thinking evolution of the fiction ever to be conceived.

I get the most enjoyment out of reading the endless streams of "this isn't G1!!!!" tirades and the systematic denouncing of G1 as the worst lego-block series ever made whenever it's convenient to pro-Movie design topics, then watch as many of the same people turn around and say how wicked something is *because of* its G1 likeness.

The next few months will make for some very entertaining reading. :)

There's already a toaster in the movie universe. There's also one in G1.

Although a Golf ball transformer would be pretty cool.

Trying to apply real-world physics to Transformers will only result in a headache.

if that is the real head for soundwave color me EFFING psyched. Hell its practically completely and untterly G1. If that coloring is close to what it will be as well im even happier cause he definately looks blue instead of black

yeah it's starting to seem like that alright.

I kinda hope they limit it to the 3 or 4 we know of thus far, just so Hasbro can have a decent shot of getting at least one of them right.

Otherwise it'll be compromise city, and we won't be able to say it sucks without fans jumping in to make excuses for Hasbro.

i have some things to say

1: is it deluxe or voyager?
2: the head looks too much like g1 soundwave, its like they made his body movie style but slapped on his g1 head.
3: will it come with ravage?

I think this is Soundwave. It looks similar to the concept art that was leaked. But in the concept art he is a truck and the toy is him with a satellite alt mode. They both have the same blue orbs chest and shoulder, same hip and abs. The concept art could have been a early design of him as a truck that is now scrapped. Orci said he would not be a pick up truck.

The toy's head does resemble Soundwaves. I can make out the crest and a faceplate. He is blue and grey. Maybe the 'blades' on his back are his weapons. One can swing over his shoulder and the other can be held. Some people said he 'looks' like Megatron. Well he looks like him to show his loyalty to Megatron. I dont know why people are complaining that he look like Megs. Is it really a big deal?

One thing I am thinking of is that the earlier pictures of this toy seemed to show a blue-framed window chest that isn't there on the new image.

Same here. I only bought 10 of the TF1 toys of characters who actually appeared in the movie (aka no bullshit repaints or itsy-bitsy Bonecrusher) but I'm not sure if I'll even do that for the TF2 toys. The only guaranteed purchases will be the Leader versions of Prime & Megs (for my multigenerational Prime vs. Megs display shelf), but beyond that, I'm not commited to it yet. Even with the mere 10 TF1 figures that I have, I only like about 4 of them, so it'll probably take a lot of convincing to get me to invest in TF2 figures. What I'm seeing so far of Soundwave certainly isn't doing it.
