I finally got the pictures of my two Soundwave, but this morning I noticed that the one in the package is different. The piece that is in the middle of Soundwave's chest is blue but the one in the package is grey. Is that an error?

 

could be but as its cosmetic id not let it trouble you much

indeed, and id keep that pair together for now , until you see how rare that blue variant is as it could prove extra rare and therefore desireable

 

Could it be in upside down? One side on mine is grey, the other is blue?

I can't get a good enough photo to show the detailing, but on mine, the blue / bot-mode side has three horizontal grooves in a little recess, whereas the grey / alt-mode side is basically a rectangular ridge with teh hinge forming one edge.

 

I don't know, because I think the one with the blue chest is common. And the blue chest one is out of package, so it's not worth it.

Cost-Cuts happen all the time. It doesn't effect anyone but the product. It may cause the occasional bitching, though.

 

I looked at it closely and the piece is right side up. Just there is no blue on it.

 

Would it still be valuable?

 

Perhaps. Won't know unless more people find it or not.

 

Considering the sheer number of paint apps Hasbro have been missing off of figures the last year or so I can't see this being worth any extra than any other TF figure missing an app.
