Well, actually the wings were already on his back in the first bit of concept art we saw, only folded considerably more so they looked like big shoulder blades that'd exactly fit on his back.

Yeah, as stated earlier, this is a photoshop comp. The size of the toys is based on the size of the screws. So if the screws are the same sizes on the toys(which they tend to be) then this is more or less how tall the toys will be next to each other.

just logged in and I have to say the toys look really good.
the one problem I have is that the larger prime actually looks less accurate than the smaller one.

anyone notice that the feet on Megatron are the same on the robot that climbs out of the pool in the movie trailer?

Whoa, the side canisters split to become Prime's shoulder-pads.

Megs is a lookin' badass. The feet does look awefully similar to the pool robot in the trailer....

The first TF movie since 1986, and that's the best alt mode they can give Megs? A... what is that anyway?

Prime looks good. Hope the face is not the long muleface. And yep, again I'm proven right - this OP is not the one on the Empire cover. So that was an older design.

Looks similar indeed, but it's not the same if you take a good look to that pool shot in the trailer.

You do realize how long it takes for Hasbro and Takara to develop a Transformers figure, right? A reasonably complex one (as I recall) takes a year.

So they were working on the Prime toys using CG renders a year out of date. Happens all the time with movie toylines and merchandise, like the Revenge of the Sith line, where none of the initial Clone Trooper figures were actually ever seen in the movie in those colours.

I like them both, I am a big transformers fan but I am also glad to see their look evolving into a more mature vision. Megatron might be but ugly but serious I think he should be if you want him to be scary

OKay, I now like Megatron. He's not Megatron, but I like that toy. Is it possible that the big kibble on his forearms can fold forward to become the BFG on his arm?

Definitely something different! I like the "Prime" toy the best. Can't wait to see the finished product.

Yeah, if you don't mind the fact that you end up with a toy that only vaguely resembles its movie counterpart.

I have to say that some of the toys look much better than the movie for the simple reasons that they are solid, and that the insectoid motif doesn't carry through in such an overdone manner.

The more I look at Prime, the less I like him. His lower legs really look ridicolously small....

Yeah, I'll say. Prime is a very, very good toy, but Megatron... wow. He's a toy to be reckoned with. I am SO going to have him impaling and eating Minicons when I get him. And he'll be front-and-center in my big evil TF display shelf.

megatron looks like crap, 'hands' are comical and his entire alt mode looks like a random crumpling of any toy
