Here are my 3D printed arm-mounted cannons for Studio Series 1986 Voyager Class Ironhide. I based the design of the cannons off of Animated Ironhide's earth mode concept from The AllSpark Almanac II.

    The cannons are bloosh compatible.

The cannons attach to the figure by pegging in from the back of the forearm and hooking over the front edge.

Due to this design, the figure cannot transform with the cannons equipped and I didn't design them to store anywhere on the vehicle.

Overall, I'm very satisfied with how this small project turned out. The end result definitely reminds me of the old iGear Ironhide figure from many years ago. I'll probably revisit this project again in the future by making different types of barrels and adding extra detail.

    Great work :thumb
They should make these cannons canon for him.
But I also liked that they tried some different things for his weaponry in the WfC trilogy.

The metallic filament shine is the cherry on top for this amazing design.

So I ask the inevitable question: Are you planning on releasing/selling the files for this?

I might put the files up on a site like Cults, but I'd like to clean up the design first.

What's there to clean up? Even all the printing lines/grooves kind of add to the look.

I'm just not completely satisfied with the bright silver panels attached to the cannons. I originally printed those panels in red to match the Animated design, but I didn't like how it looked from behind. I'm thinking of replacing them with more greebly tech details.

It looks really good. Something like that may make me take the plunge and buy a 3D printer.

That looks awesome! Giving Ironhide arm-mounted blasters is one of the ideas I'm glad the movies introduced, so fitting for a rough-and-tumble character like him. And I'll echo the desire for the files if you're willing to distribute them, I'd love to own a pair for myself!

the 3d printing layering effect came out perfectly for the cannons finishing. kinda like a brush steel finishing

Thanks! I also like how the arm-mounted cannons give him a different silhouette from Ratchet. Speaking of Ratchet, I think I'll make an EMP generator for him whenever Hasbro produces the inevitable redeco.

Im looking forward to seeing that if you make it! Just a thought I had when reading that post, but what if you also made his magnet things from animated that could slide in his hands or something.

Guess the arm cannons that 2007 Movie Ironhide had set the precedent.

Awesome! Love whenever a Ironhide comes out and has cannons made for it or comes with them. Making me think about now having to get a 3d printer for this.
It did and I wish more Ironhides would have them as well.
    Seconded.
