Does retooling work for these guys? Or is every mold from scratch?

Since they're handmade, one has to start everything from scratch...I mean retooling could work but if it's like for a different character with a different body shape, it's not really worth it.

i assume rePAINTS don't have the same rules. seekers can use the same steps but just with diffrent colors.

Edit: stupid question, what the heck is "mount-board"?
Edit, again: have you considered using stop-motion at some point? or is the cardboard too loose to hold poses? i wonder if you couldspeedupthetransformationwithyourhands like hasbro does!

Yes right, repaints for characters who are supposed to be repaints are acceptable

Mount board is basically a non-corrugated, thinner version of cardboard (Like a hybrid of paper and cardboard) generally used for framing paintings..and it's not a stupid question..so glad someone finally asked because some people seemed to have a confusion about it but no one really asked about it. Also it is due to the fact that my schedule gets busy occasionally, that I pre-upload and schedule my videos at gaps so that there's always new content being uploaded regularly.

Well I'm actually bad at stop motion and also it's a lot of work to fit into my schedule (now itself it has gotten a bit busy so I can't really work properly on my bots now) so don't wanna do that.

have you ever seen thew adams transformations? he just speeds up the hand transformation footage as opposed to using stop-motion. maybe give him a look sometime, send him some fanmail.

Yes, and I love his videos ( minus the occasional swear words)...but the problem with that is you can barely make out what is happening if you speed that up so much...so I stick to the more 'Emgo way' of showing transformations. But thank you for your wonderful suggestions. Much appreciated.

For the shorts...that sounds interesting! Great Idea!.... Might try that when I get back to making more bots and videos.

i was going to try and make a beast machines jetstorm as a first try, but i'm having trouble with figuring out how the arms would work. the (deluxe) toy uses these long tubey things but they hold up the entire sides of the plane, and i think the board would crush under it's weight. any suggestions?

If you feel that any weight is too heavy for a joint, you can always thicken up the joint with a second layer of board......Do ask me if you're still having problems.

Great! you're welcome....also remember that when you thicken a complex hinge, thicken both the inner as well as outer cylinder and also don't make complex hinges waaay too tight.
