It was buggy because of the competition from the Hot Wheels collectors trying to get their Treasure Hunt sets. Which, at $250, is still unsurprisingly sold out.
Seriously....I found a bug where before the countdown ended you could go onto the page and click the order button but it would immediately say "Sold Out." I lost like 20 seconds having to back out and then go back into the site to actually get to put them into my cart to checkout. Then the multiple payment screens. lol
Well, I got my Frog Monger, but damn that three-minute enforced queue was annoying (plus going to checkout failed three times - I figured the server was being hammered). I just hope it actually achieves something in keeping scalper-bots down.
Despite my issues with Mattel’s website (as usual) and PayPal I was able to get one. I just hate those first few seconds it goes live and it says sold out before it actually goes up for order.
I got that Sold Out and my heart dropped lol. Then it refreshed itself and allowed me to proceed. That's a fairly extensive check out process they got going there...
That (changing to sold out just before the timer runs out) has happened with all the previous items I've ordered too though.
got 3 on order! I figure it's an army builder, like the photos, even tho they're painting it as a single character by the description. I didn't have much trouble, just Captcha after every screen. and five minutes in the queue.
Fuck me... page refreshed on the hour and immediately said sold out, refreshed again, carted 2 foggiest and got stuck in the endless captcha cycle (admittedly my fault, I kept hitting the continue button instead of submit... and I do it every fucking time...) Then, when it comes to calculating shipping it tells me there are no shipping rates to this address! I'm in the uk and my space sumo literally arrived yesterday... refreshed again and got it to work.. to be sat in a checkout queue forever. Got the greeny bastards in the end, though.
Yep. I got unnecessarily nervous with my Captcha, thinking.... "Ok is that an actual bridge in the photo or like just a pedestrian walkway...oh shit maybe it's just a sluice for runnoff!"
Thirty minutes later and froggy's still a'courtin'. So glad I lost an hour of sleep over this naw I'm glad to have it, it looks like a super fun design. Of course, I would have preferred it at mass retail, this seems like an awesome kid-friendly toy.
