That’s gonna be a crazy day!!! This, Hot Wheels Treasure Hunt set and a Barbie one on the same day. I was hoping it would be some stupid shit.
Dang it, I have a meeting that morning! I think I'll be okay and have the time, but it's cutting it close. Also, LOL at this pic:
^ THIS Also I'd buy this figure without knowing what property he was connected to if I saw it in a store. The design has "it".
Agreed. I don't own a single MOTU toy yet, my first one is supposedly coming next Monday (Origins Scareglow), so I can't say I'm the biggest fan; I'm still learning a lot. But this design is just straight awesome, and is fantastically absurd. Even if I had no interest in MOTU, I would want this. I'm still undecided after I get a few Origins I want as to whether or not I will continue collecting them, but I will happily add this to my collection.
The only one that came with the comb was the Power-Con exclusive. I have both the regular release of She-Ra (eyelashes/non- eyelashes) and they both didn't come with it.
I am aware of this, but the product shots on BBTS for the re-issue She-Ra they had showed her with the sword, shield and comb axe accessory. Considering I missed out on Power-Con and trying to get any of the damn exclusives after the fact costs eight quarts of blood and a kidney I'm not even trying to find the damn things I'm missing like Wun-Dar, Kol Darr, Mini-Comic Tri-Klops, the Lords of Power set or the original Prince Adam/He-Man two-pack among other things. Hell I didn't even find a Flocked Panthor yet and supposedly those have shelfwarmed. Funny thing about Canada, stuff doesn't tend to shelfwarm around here, apparently. Not so as you'd notice.
This site loves forgetting I frequent this thread, especially when important stuff pops up. So, Frog Monger on Tuesday and I also send my car in for repair on Tuesday as well. Could be a very expensive day for me. Pray for me, lads.
Seriously. This guy looks fantastic. A creepy frogman fits well into a host of different collections. With that gun he looks perfect with things like Flash Gordon or any other 20-40s era sci-fi series.
I must confess that I had no idea who Frog Monger is. I did a google search and discovered that he's from the Dwell of Souls decal with Castle Grayskul. But that decal only shows his hand. Where did the design for the entire body come from?
Axel Gimenez. Who does card art for Origins. He's inserted around 50 non-vintage toy characters (some were unused designs of his for Classics, some from 200x, some from other places) onto Origins packaging. I think it's from him anyway. Bryan Flynn did say when Super7 had the license that they found a boatload of unused vintage toy designs in Mattel's archive beyond just the 1988 wave we know about.
OK, gotcha. I thought it might have been mini comics or story books or something. This doesn't really interest me. I don't have to catch 'em all.
