Mine did. Posted yesterday afternoon.
I’m very curious about all this. The deal has to have been done awhile ago if the figure is coming in Nov. She may have had enough time to have him appear in Revelations but I’m happy if we just get an Origins figure or even the whole line done for Origins. The guy hosting told Tallstar from the org that her She-Ra inspired line, Butterfly Woman is brought up. There were some redacted and surprise things for Mattel Creations listed yet to be revealed. Could be a deluxe release and regular retail to follow like Scareglow.
Also Mattel has that trademark for “Legends of the Universe”. I feared it might replace the word Masters after the hooded Cobra Commander incident but maybe it’s a subset for guest stars for Origins. If this is legit, wonder if they could pull off Fuerza-T next.
I’ve always loved this pic. It’d be pretty cool to get an homage with Sun Man and He-Man
I would love to see less typical MotU characters in the Origins toy line. I think it will give depth to the line as a retail product that can't solely appeal to knowledgeable and entrenched fans of MotU. More character options will give Origins more potential sales from kids who know little about MotU but just want to play with cool looking toys.
"Legends of the Universe" would be a great name for MotU toys that draw from lesser known characters!
I’m still looking for one of each half sword if anyone wants a few bucks.
Imagine if we could get black star, brave star, crystar, and thundarr to cross over into origins also. That would be awesome
I disagree. Crossovers can be fun in comic books. Mixing additional properties into a current line will lead to a mess.
Isn't the Target 2 pack coming with Vac Metal?
the BA-Man and shredded Battlecat pack? yep. afaik, anyway. but it is also an exclusive and doesn't adhere to the standard and deluxe release budget models. maybe if they do a Jitsu and Fisto duel pack at some point? although they would probably prioritise flying fists He-Man and some kind of Skeletor.
The early to mid '80s action oriented toy lines certainly had a lot of cross pollination in terms of toy scale/form factors, aesthetics, and even narrative concepts. As a kid, my friends and I used to mix all of our toys while at play at the old sandbox. He-Man co-existed with John Blackstar, all the while Mumm-Ra and Skeletor schemed. But don't worry, WilyKit and Orko were nearby, eavesdropping on the evil planning!
Similar to how Masters of the WWE Universe exists as a parallel toy line to Origins, it would be cool to see a similar toy line using the base tooling from Origins but apply it to characters from other '80s properties.
I could see them doing a chromed Jistu (and maybe Fisto) if they packed them with a respective Nightstalker and Stridor release.
And this is what i was alluding to with regard to Galaxy Warriors.
I owned Blackstar and Remcos Hercules from the Warlord line as a child. Hercules received a lot of use alongside He-Man and the MOTU figures. Do i need them , along with Sun Man , in the MOTU Origins line? No. But i wouldn't ******* turn them down lol. Especially Sun Man. Many of us missed out on that figure as kids and to see it brought back with updated articulation ...yeeesh.
As long as the properties involved made sense, I think it would be amazing to see them show up parallel to MOTU in the same style. I’d be a bit less enthusiastic if things went in the direction of ReAction and anything remotely possible got shoved into the line. DC Primal Age wasn’t so bad as a DC MOTU reskin but thinking of the Savage World stuff, ehhhh.
The Sun Man line getting attention in Origins would be very sweet indeed.
Yet we let He-Man get away with it.
I just think it'd be neat if Mattel were to get licenses to convert to their MOTU Origins bucks besides WWE, even if they were just online-only or convention exclusives. I'd be ecstatic if they could do 70's Marvel Conan and Red Sonja this way.
I don’t have particular He-Man nostalgia (very outlier compared to most MOTUO collectors) so I actually prefer the new head! I also didn’t even mean to buy the one I have so I wouldn’t pick up the vintage head release anyway unless it was real cheap, and only to get a full silver power sword.
I like the vintage head out of sentimental connection to it but I like the v1 head because I think it looks like it is based on the mini comics He-Man.
I always thought it was amusing that the vintage head has a resemblance to James Coburn.
I really would've preferred a guard. it's easy, just do Man-at-Arms with a different head.
it's a nice piece but for me, ugh Prince Adam.
