Target, once again, in-stock blocked me a couple of nights ago once seeing a vintage mandalorian and grogu (both scanning under $10); but yesterday found these fellas at a different target
Battle ramama mia!!
Guys, I’m confused as to who owning MOTU...according to a buddy it seems Mattel sold the toy rights to Universal? Is that true?
Mattel still owns the merchandising rights and, last I heard, Sony still held the movie rights.
Got the Rise of Evil pack at a local Target today. Right from the case. Popfinder said 1 was there. Went and couldn't find it on the shelves. A worker had a trolly of items to stock and he found the case on it. Smaller than I thought it was going to be. But there are 4 in the case.
Yeah, I wouldn't sweat it, Mattel still owns the IP.
I got a ship notice from Walmart for my Grayskull.
I actually saw a Castle Grayskull in person yesterday. Genuinely surprised to have actually.
That it was apart from the rest of the MotU, however, didn't surprise me one bit. Why put all the stuff in one area? Then people would be able to find it easier.
I remember decades ago when I first started working out of college, I drove really early to work so traffic wouldn't make me late, and because I was so early I went to Target at opening. That was the first time I ever saw the people lined up outside the door before opening, then rushing in to the toy aisle. It's also the first time I realized how big Hot Wheels were for collectors.
Has there been any indication that Grayskull will be available at more than just Walmart, at some point? I think I heard Pixel Dan mention something about it being available at both Walmart and Target, at some point in the future.
I'm not gonna play hide & seek with Walmart, went ahead with a Grayskull preorder at BBTS.
You should see fools and their sports cards.
It’s not that they own the merchandising rights — they own the brand in its entirety which allows them to do anything they want with it, including making merchandise, or selling the film rights to a movie studio.
Whoah, didn't realize they were even making a Hot Wheels Battle Ram (this is the danger of not knowing anything about a certain toy line that suddenly starts producing things you want... same with the Land Shark, I didn't know it existed until I saw it on a shelf and it blew my mind).
Guess I'll be on the lookout for the Battle Ram now as well!
Was it in the action figure aisle at least? LOL if all our Walmarts have them but they are over in the Barbie aisle.
I'm not all in on this Line (yet) as I still have all my Classics and this feels a little like double counting, but damned if I can pass up Battle Armor Dude - the one that was my He-Man as a kid.
Now of course that means getting BA Skelly too.
$20 from Target for in store pickup.
It was in the Lego area.
Thanks. Guess i know which aisle I'll be checking from now on.
On hindsight, it was with the handful of Mega Construx Panthor figures they had. Maybe some goober wasn't paying attention and just associated the two by brand.
