I've heard rumors that Walmart will order exclusives then kill their order partway through production, often leaving manufacturers holding the bag. They occasionally won't even take delivery of shipments sometimes because they're so flaky, the left hand never knows what the right hand is doing at WM. They're a nightmare, they are poison to the toy industry.

I remember my friends constantly complaining about getting Origins figures in this line going back to wave 2. Mattel's never gotten distribution right.

They aren't allowed to sell advertising or make money with the URL, apparently, so there's no way to make it successful or pay for itself.

I just cleaned out the last Walmart that still carries Origins of 9 wave 7 figures to donate to Toys for Tots. Who knows in 10 or 14 years we could have a new member with memories of getting Jitsu or Party Boy Stratos for Christmas.

Walmart thanks you. Now they can put out the other cases of Naked Stratos that have been sitting in the back. :)

Oh, there's going to be so many confused and disappointed children this Christmas.

    "What did you get?"
"A bird woman... and a naked flying monkey with a jetpack? And a karate guy."
"Naked flying monkey? That's a kids toy?"
"Well, there's also a mostly naked barbarian guy and some kinda maybe naked skeleton faced guy, so... maybe?"

    Elsewhere:
"You heard me right, Tim, the whole region just sold out, like, overnight. I guess they are more popular than we thought this whole last year. Yeah, I don't get it either but go ahead and send me those cases district seventeen returned earlier this summer. I think I can move them now."

    Even better:

"Call Mattel. Tell them to cancel those exclusives. We want more of the bird guy and the karate guy. 100,000 more! We're gonna strike it rich!"

I’ve always found it funny that MOTU is one of the few series I can think of where the men tend to wear less than the women on average, considering that with most barbarian stories, it’s either the women or both in the scantily clad department.

There goes most of my interest in that line. Moss Man and Krang were 2 of the figures I was looking forward to the most (especially Moss Man). *sighs* I’d rather not deal with searching Walmarts again. Ah well. At least there’s still mutant He-Man (with a minicomic drawn by noted crossover artist Freddie E. Willams II, IIRC).

Woohoo. I just got my vintage Attack Trak in the mail. Needs some cleaning and a couple stickers but it looks to be in pretty damn good condition. It even runs! Only thing I need to either buy another one of or make one is a battery cover. A typical piece to be missing but that's okay. As long at it runs i'm good and it does. :D

Oh, and i'll need to make or buy a seatbelt. I'll probably make one.

Curious – is there a business like ToyHax that sells repro stickers or parts for vintage MOTU?

Barbossa Customs, his stuff is all made to order so its a bit pricey. The quality is very good.

It's a reference to Oo-Larr, because it's a repro of the exclusive "classic toy" head that came with MOTU Classics Oo-Larr.
