I don't get it either, but the toy looks awesome IMO. Will I drop $33 plus shipping? Unknown at this point, but they have my attention.

I love this Trooper but really hope they also put out an at-retail figure with the old toy colors. This version could then be the "Phasma" of the Horde, a command trooper or something. As is, I'll be buying two of this one.

Yeah, even though he’s huge, he still comes off looking squat because of his proportions. I’d prefer it looked a bit leaner, personally.

As long as he's in stock whenever something else I want goes up I will. Hell, I might be down to order one per Origins exclusive I get as a way to justify paying for shipping. Go rationalizations!

I can't be the only person who loathes having to watch live video from a device. Why would they not use YT for this? Also, I really expected to see a lot more product. I was very annoyed after having sat through Street Sharks to see four items. Three of which, I do not care about. After radio silence from Mattel for six, seven months, we got to see one Masterverse item. One. It felt like they spent more time tooting their own horn about the stop motion videos than on new product. I am... unhappy. Between the Hasbro stream showing nothing new and this, which I was actually excited for, just yuck.

It's a picture I found online that I printed out at Walgreens as a poster and mounted on cardboard

Awesome! Definitely grabbing Teela when she's available!
    Hordak looked better on screen.

Yeah. They didn’t do a good job managing expectations about what this event would be. Clearly it was meant to be more about the behind the scenes footage with a few product reveals. Seems intended to drive awareness to MC as a retail outlet more than anything. It had a QVC feel to it.

Next weeks MOTUesday is the actual product reveals we’ve all been waiting for…I think. Haha. Based on the TOG catalogue reveal…I’m assuming we see MV, CC and Vintage too.

Wow, that was a full morning of content, not all of it was great but I did like the in depth interviews on the Street Sharks & MOTU stop motion videos etc. That said...why would they put a guy in the Horde trooper armour, if they're going to keep the break apart aspect? Aren't they just supposed to be robots? It otherwise looks great, very imposing & nice metallic paint.

They were robots in the cartoon so the heroes could have enemies to actually destroy

I guess in masterverse they’re some alien race that Hordak uses as soldiers

Well, they were everything in the cartoon. Robots when crushing them works to quickly resolve their threat, people in armor when there's a needed plot device, or an alien or orc looking creature when they needed a trooper with a personality to root against beyond the usual Horde team.

The various comics had the same issue, sometimes they were stormtroopers with people inside, others they were drones.

I think the 200X series was the only consistent iteration where they were people in armor. That's it.

The Horde Trooper was going to be retail, but they saw how lucrative Mattel Creations has been for them so they put it on there. Eh

Easy pass on the Horde Troopers for me. It's cool they're making them tho!
