Not beat to shit? Are you _sure_ it was Walmart? What competitors? Shittens murdered the two major toy chains, another hedge fund clown murdered Sears and KMart, so that only really leaves Target.
Not a shock. Went into my local Meijer store last weekend and they still have this same wave. The 3 or 4 dozen boxes were on an endcap last year so they still look minty fresh now that the last dozen have shifted on to pegs in the normal toy aisle. Still the full MSRP as well. I think He-Man is now sold out, but they still have a few Evil-Lyn, Moss Man, and Skeletor hanging around.
I've never heard of Shittens, but yeah you're right about being no one else but Target. But it would still benefit WM to visit one from time to time. Jeez-a-loo. MAYBE the heads of places that are still getting this first wave REALLY believe in He-Man and Skeletor.
Opened my Two Bad today, fuck. If Mattel had made DC figures of this caliber, they wouldn't have lost the license.
Two Bad is a heck of a figure. Large and lot of pretty cool detail. The laser pistol looks terrible though. I'm liking this New Eternia line..gotta get some more
I'm gonna keep saying it, MV Two-Bad outclasses the Classics version in every way. We might be at a turning point here, where the MV starts to supplant Classics as the best collectors line.
I'm tellin' y'all. Might be premature but I'm calling Two Bad as "Best Masterverse Figure" of 2023 already!
Owning him I'm inclined to agree. I just don't see them being able to top this release for the year. It'd have to be something really exceptional.
For me the only way Two Bad gets topped is if Mattel does a home run and does a Rio Blast in New Eternia. I fucking LOVE Rio Blast.
NE Beast Man is no slouch either. Between him and TB I have very high hopes for a whole line of hulking, monstrous Evil Warriors.
I wonder if Saurod would make the cut. I was trying to think of monstrous characters that could use an upgrade and coming up a bit short. Saurod was originally quite monstrous in concept art. So was Dylamug. New Eternia Buzzoff is probably the Heroic Warriors' best chance to compete. Although... I think a New Eternia Ram Man could be quite glorious, especially if they start with the 200x version of him as a giant. Huh! Looking back, they did make New Eternia Ram Man a giant. I'm not crazy about his 80s toy proportions in this art but I think the basic design could work if it's sufficiently detailed and ferocious looking.
NE Beastman is 2022 though so he doesn't make the cut for the 2023 running, haha. That being said he was a fuckin' badass figure for 2022. A tie between him and King Grayskull for me.
Hey guys, just got into this line, really cool. I have the HeMan 40th anniversary, the Heman Revelations standard figure, and the Skeletor New Eternia. I'm digging the standard head on Skeletor and Heman 40th, but the sculpt on the Revelations line feels a bit young and doofy to me. I'm digging around the internet for alternate head sculpts, but there's not much out there. I want a vintage-y look, or else just a badass Conan-type head. a) The Origins heads look a little big/wide, and do they fit on the ball peg? b) any decent printed heads for sale? The only one I like on ebay is this one, from multiple sellers. Looks good (I can paint it no problem), but how does it fit? Not sure if 1/12 is for Marvel Legends, Joe size or 7" Motu. Any other leads, advice, pictures? Note I don't love the Filmation look so I won't bite on any of those.
They haven't even said when this comic book is coming, I think. They announced a New Eternia comic and showed a preview. Then Dark Horse solicited a different Masterverse anthology comic mini-series with some different New Eternia short stories in it.
