Wouldn't super bare bones just be Skeletor? :D  Sorry, I had to.

Strangely enough I forgot about Battle Cat. Although I'd probably still choose Teela for space constraints and because while Battle Cat is essentially He-Man's partner, Teela feels like she was more prominent in the Filmation series.

Bolding part of your post: it looks like you and I have similar ideas on what a "bare bones" collection might look like. When you get a shipping notice for the Ultimates? After reading about people getting theirs shipped, I checked my order status and still nothing. Also, if you don't mind me asking, where are they shipping from?

For the people who got their Ultimates in already, hows the quality? Also did they change the right hand wrist articulation on He-Man from the prototypes? Post pics :D

If you ordered from BBTS you don't get them the same time as anyone ordering from S7, I remember it took at least a month before my Sorceress came in once Wave 2 was released. But now that I have it ready to go I'm stuck worrying if I should bother transferring to Paypal or just leave it alone in the bank until they process the order. Because if they process it while its transferring I'll be stuck overdrawing and having tons of problems. UGH, why the hell did BBTS have to change their business practice? I remember when I used to just pay when I got an invoice and not have to have stupid paypal payment agreements with them where they could just charge you whenever even if you don't have the funds available for them yet.

Were there too many people not paying invoices on time or at all forcing them to modify their payment practices? It's a huge inconvenience at times. And I'd love to know why Despara hasn't gone through because she throws a bit of a monkeywrench in my funds situation now. (Stupid me for pre-ordering her because I wanted her, but these things happen.)

Is this your video? Curious did they fix the wrist? Also the face issue from the Holiday He-Man?

Like others here, mine just showed up, no shipping notice. Wow these aren't great. The neck joints don't work, both are stuck in a permanent looking up pose, no matter which head.
Here's comparisons with the originals on the left, & ultimates on the right. The plastic they used for the skin looks so cheap & shiny, and I don't know what's going on with He-Man's hair line. Skeletor.jpg He-Man.jpg Closeup.jpg

The crappyness of the shiny plastic they insist on using is always so jarring on the faces. For charging almost twice as much as Mattel this should never have been an issue.

It looks to me like that He-Man head's hair problem has something to do with excess plastic and the two parts not sealing together properly on the mold. Or something in that area.

Crap those pics make the He-Man figure look like a KO. The shiny plastic and paint job make it look really bad compared to the Mattel one.

Ugh. I sold my others as I really just wanted the ultimates. So bummed if this is what we are getting. I agree with Star Saber that he-man looks like a KO with the shiny face. It looks like the black series stuff before Hasbro started using the new face printing tech.

Now I’m wondering how bad is the hair attachment on the figures - is it widespread or not - because that is one glaring issue that makes it look even worse
