I recently won an auction for Titans Return Misfire. With shipping and tax I paid over $125.00
The other most recent was TR Arcee, that was a buy it now and I paid $75.00 for that one.
Oh and I can't forget, I for TR Top Spin and Twintwist as a set for $135.00

But they sure do look sweet sitting in my collection, so overpaid is subjective...

Shit, looks like I’m not getting a Misfire anytime soon.

Mine’s Prime TFCC Slipstream, I think I paid 140$ inc shipping + taxes as I had to get her from USA via Ebay. But I love her still so don’t regret it. Really hope APC Toys KOs her though because I want a second copy and I’m not that crazy anymore lol.

Crazy how a $20.00 dollar deluxe(prob less when Titans Return was on store shelves), jumps in price soo much. I'm close to having all the Titans Return figures, but it sure has cost me!!

Yeah that’s insane. I remember him being all over the place. He even reached a few etailers in my country, and like an idiot I waited for him to go on clearance. That didn't exactly happen..

Neat you’ve almost got the full TR, that was a good line and I’d say well worth spending on.

My mom paid $125 for Energon Unicron on eBay back in 2008. Still worth it.

I tend to wait for deals or just pay MSRP, but I definitely feel like I've overspent when just paying MSRP. The most I've ever spent at once was on Feral Rex, and that was $350 (half of which was thankfully a gift). I couldn't cope with the Fans Toys aftermarket if I was a fan of theirs, that shit is nuts.

This. I usually try to wait for sales, because figures are so overpriced at retail already. I paid full retail price for SS Sentinel Prime and Earthrise Cliffjumper recently, because it's not easy to get a hold of figures at the moment, and I didn't want to miss out on them... but jeez, still felt expensive.

Biggest purchases in last couple years were MP-43 BW Megs, and Zeta Unicron. But those were dream-come-true figures that I pre-ordered early, because I wanted to get them before the prices skyrocketed. (Thank goodness for the Amazon Japan discount on MP-43.)

Never, $150 for an action figure is already steep enough for me as is

Most I've overspent is my preorder for The Paean reissue. $130 for a figure that was $80 before thanks to XTB's price fixing shit. Fortunately, I'm getting it from ShowZStore and, while they're forced to match the stupid price, they're giving a $5 match to their preorder deposit and are offering a $15 credit to anybody who posts pics on social media (including tfw) for a total discount of $20. That plus not paying tax or shipping sealed the deal for me but I'm still not happy with XTB's ridiculous price.

i was expecting this thread to be littered with all Iron Factory stories, but there's barely any.

are all those who've paid the late tax on IF figures in denial and feel they didn't overpay? or just avoiding this thread altogether to avoid the shame? :lol

    Bandai’s 1/48 DX VF- 1S.

$120 over retail because fuck Bandai.

I’m expecting the same for Roy.

    TF’s?

Never a cent over retail. Never will.

there are still plenty of new and used PT shockwaves in the world. so for around 13-15 bucks that mold is definitely worth it.

most IF collectors got in early or just paid a few bucks more than retail when it was all said and done. only a couple molds go for high dollars and the ones that do buy them are serious collectors and not a passerby. so to them it is worth it.

...just paid $600 for a limited-edition D+D manual; by comparison to the original price that beats what i've overpaid for any transformer in my extensive collection...

    Ebay:
I paid nearly $800 for the iGear Coneheads back in 2014. I thought I was getting a killer deal since the set was known to sell for over $1000 at the time. Then about a month later, Takara announced their MP Ramjet. I was crushed. It was my first and only purchase regret. I finally sold them earlier this year for about $100 just because I couldn’t stand to look at them anymore. Oh well, lesson learned.
