Transformers didn't make ANY of the lists.

    Most wanted toys Christmas 2012

My guess is that since the prices keep increasing parents are staying far away from them.

Probably because the older sets are insanely cheap.

I don't think price has anything to do with it... Just nothing out that Kids desperately want at the moment. Hell, nothing I want either!

This can't be, there is still plenty of Bumblebee on the shelves, in all sorts of size classes. Optimus too!

Though I enjoy the Transformers Prime show and a few of the figures, most are not very good, and really too difficult to transform for a lot of kids IMHO. The Leader class is by far the hardest to transfomrer. Put out transformers that are easier to transformer, litlte more realistic looking vehicles (Not alternators realistic, but G1 relistic) and I think you will have a more popular line.

it's kinda funny how kids marketing has fluxed since us children of the 80's.

toy robots were the absolute rage. I think I would have cried for weeks if I had known mp-10 was available and he didn't end up under the tree. hell, even if I saw one in the store I would have probably held onto it with the 4 year old death grip until it was ripped from my tiny hands. now, it would be amazing to me if a 4 or 5 year old even knew what a masterpiece figure was.

transformers just aren't the marketing machine they used to be, even if there is a movie around backing it. there's a lot more stuff out there to compete over (especially with video games in the mix), where kids can be satisfied by something virtual just as good (if not better) then something tangible.

You know, I have to agree with this. I teach 2nd grade (used to teach 3rd and 4th) and the majority of the kids in my class want DS, 3DS, Wii, PS3, and Xbox games/consoles for Christmas. I don't think I have one kid this year who's even interested in Transformers. I have a few who are crazy over Bakugon, but that's about it.

Really? Outside of the voyagers, Prime figures should be the easiest to transform...in fact Hasbro downgraded most of their transformer's complexity because previous figures were 'too hard to transform'...out of curiosity, what Prime figures are you referring to? As far as I'm concerned, outside of FE, everything is too simple.

Methinks Hasbro should have another TF show, outside of Rescue Bots, to have a change of aesthetic and justify having numerous figures of different styles and sizes on the shelves instead of releasing tons of non-show characters that only a handful of people will pick up
