I think he's the worst decepticon in the entirety of the Movie franchise. Plus, he was a reuse of long haul. Actually, every decepticon in TLK (excluding Megs and Barricade.) They were totally worthless.

 

They're useful because they're funny.

 

I have to go with Mudflap and Skids (Movieverse), Wheelie (G1), Ratchet (Movieverse), Starscream (TF Animated), Starscream (Movieverse), Skywarp (FOC)

 

I think some people are confusing useless with annoying. Some of the characters mentioned in this thread are annoying and I hate them but aren't actually useless.

 

I think it's unfair to put any new characters in here... I do gotta agree with some of the G1 cartoon characters. Like if you were on the Ark but people barely remember you- Gears? Huffer?- then you don't got a lot of excuses.

Some of the movie ones who "Show up, maybe a line, die," certainly qualify.

I find any mention of Starscream o_o. Any version of Starscream did a lot!

As a character, he had the role of providing comic relief, which he did pretty well!

And he wasn't really annoying in G1, it's mostly the more recent iterations i have trouble with.

Most of the cons and bots from G1. They were all literally just standing in the background

 

Whirl and Swerve aren't funny. At least not anymore. However, the Scavengers are still funny.

 

G1 cartoon Skids (not Marvel Skids, he was useful). Loses both fights in the only two appearances he makes in the entire series. Never seen again. Obviously, his peers recognized he was the weakest link and tossed him in the river. And all of you guys think the AUTOBOTS are the good guys...

Most versions of Sideswipe. Sideswipe is bland in most incarnations, he is of very little consequence to most Transformers stories he appears in, and even the versions of him where he plays a larger role are not particularly memorable in my opinion.

Reflector definitely. Say what you will about any other Transformer, whether they be movie characters or G1. None of them compare to Reflector. They were just three Decepticons that merged together to turn into a camera. The first few episodes tried to push them forward as recon specialist, but they were made obsolete by Laserbeak. This resulted in them standing around in the background, not really doing much. Then they kind of disappeared from Megatron's ranks without a word nor explanation.

 

Not only did they only turn into a camera, but they combined to form a pathetically tiny camera.

Reflector is a character that really needs to be reimagined. I'd say keep his alt mode related to images and keep the three-bot components, but I think he would work better as a space probe or satellite than a camera.
