I'm relatively knew to the older stuff, as I came in when the movies started. I just got my MP10 and wooooooooooooooooooow.

My question is which OP would best replicate a mini version of this guy? I'm really looking for a G1 accurate OP, maybe a classics although it looks like his alt mode is changed.

    Thanks for any help

I don't think there's anything that comes close apart from THS-02 but that thing is tiny around 3-4 inches tall but it's pretty cool.

Non-G1? WFC Optimus and RoTF Battle Blades Optimus. G1? ...yeah, there isn't any.

the prime megatron box set from classics is the most G1 looking in robot mode, however, he kind of sucks overall. his alt mode is so bad that i just consider him an action master

Revoltech for MP-10's robot mode even if he dosen't transform. Alt mode, G1 Prime matches great. I honestly can't think of one that is that awesome in both modes.

Classics deluxe Optimus is as close as you're going to get with that classic G1 look.

Every single G1 Optimus Prime toy can be found here. As far as animation model-style Optimus Primes in a smaller scale go, the choice seems to Robot Masters G1 Convoy, Hybrid Style Convoy, or the Deluxe (as opposed to Voyager) sized Classics Optimus Prime, which has been re-released in Universe and United with slightly different colour schemes.

Unfortunately, though, none of them really pull off a successful truck mode...

Robot Masters Convoy. When he was first shown people speculated that it was a miniaturizaed MP-01. Unfortunately they're a bit expensive these days.

Hah, I was just about to post this link.

Yeah, totally agree, that it's between Robot Master, Hybrid Style (THS-02) and Classics Deluxe.

I say Classics deluxe but it is the easiest and cheapest to get. THS-02 is a much more accurate in bot mode but just as wonky in alt (IMHO) and much more costly.

If Classics Voyager Prime isn't G1 enough for you, then I say go with Classics Deluxe. It's very G1, and while the alt-mode is rubbish, they pretty much all are (other than Classics Voyager), or else they're a completely different alt-mode (like RtS Deluxe). Toss in the fact that he'll cost you $12 at TJ Maxx/Marshalls/Ross and that includes a pretty decent Megatron... looks like your decision is made.

He looks pretty good the classics deluxe but voyager looks better but costs so much more. I do see some on eBay selling deluxe classic for like over 30 bucks

... seriously? Because that's insane. Seriously, the two-pack with the Classics Deluxe is so easy to get right now.

Personally, Classics Voyager is my favorite version of G1 Prime, at least until my MP-10 arrives. The alt-mode is a bit different, as is the transformation, but he's a stellar toy.

Looking at Hybrid Prime again and it looks pretty sweet. Is it really as sweet as it looks?

It's amazing if not a bit fiddly. Transforming him is nightmarish at points just because of how small and fragile a few pieces are but, he comes out of the box in bot-mode so, if you didn't want to, you wouldn't ever have to transform him. I love the little guy so much but, it's a shame there isn't a Megs his scale as he's all alone in that size class.
