We see it day in and day out here on the boards. I see one in particular that is constantly misspelled every day by someone and it drives me crazy. Out of all the myriad of Transformers, which one gets misspelled the most often?

    My vote is Scorponok.

I'd imagine Dreadwind and Dreadwing are often confused.

I also suspect some double barrelled names like Kick Off or Knock Out also cause confusion. Breakdown or Brakedown too.

Hun-gurrr is probably the biggest culprit. If I remember correctly, G1 Hun-gurrr had a different spelling on his tech specs to the box.

My memory's better than I thought. I remembered his Dreamwave profile having a different spelling too.

Like Hun-gurrr, Scorponok isn't helped that his name isn't actually a real word. Jhiaxus too.

I still say Scorponok.. I see it spelled so many different ways... Skorponok, Scorpinok, Scorpinox, Scorponok, and other variations with different combinations of misspellings. Even Hasbro has been guilty of goofing it up with Movie Scorponok.

Now Hun-gurrr could go either way, since his first print spelling is different, so either could be considered correct. I never knew about the “gurrr” version at first because I tossed the packaging and kept the tech spec...

    Spelling Laserbeak with a z.
Alot of Transformers names cannot be screwed up, as their just normal ordinary words found in the dictionary, however I've have seen "Unicron" spelt as "Unicorn."

I prefer the Hun-Grrr as a portmanteau of hunger and grrr; which makes more sense than Hun-Gurrr.

Isn't that the spelling of the Beast Wars character?

I've definitely come across the Unicorn misspelling. As for laser and lazer, isn't the latter the actual American spelling? Like how we in Ireland and England spell 'centre' and America spells it 'center'. Each one the legitimate spelling in its respective country?

Definitely seen that at some point.

UK vs US spelling of 'laser'. Both legitimate in their own country.

I'd be surprised if Megatron hasn't been confused with Megaton which was part of the inspiration for the name.

My mistake. I was sure I remember hearing that it was the American spelling as a child.

Thanks for the helpful but condescending link.

Does third party count? Because I always see Rouge as Rogue...

Sure about that? Because laser is actually an acronym, and usually the UK replaces a z with an s, not the other way around...
