What started out as a normal game of Clue: Master Detective at my girlfriend's college grad party last Sunday got far more interesting, when she made an accusation to win the game. She went into shock as she looked at the cards in the confidential case file. Literally frozen for a couple seconds before dropping the cards to the table. And then the happy tears started flowing like mad. I used Clue to propose to my girlfriend!
Congratulations and well done! The custom cards are great. Did you remove three cards from the deck? I wonder if she was puzzled looking at her sheet, thinking "well, this just doesn't add up..." Also, kudos for playing the Master Detective version, the definitive version of Clue IMO.
Oh definitely! Love the Master Detective edition. It also allowed us to have more of her friends and family playing (and in on the surprise). And we ran into that exact situation!! My sister was dealing out the cards and made the switch when no one was looking. The real solution was Mrs. White in the Fountain with the Revolver. So when someone made that guess and no one could disprove it, and then that person still lost when they looked inside the case file, things started to get a little suspicious. Strangely enough, we were missing the playing piece for Mrs. White, so my girlfriend (Krystal), just figured that maybe the card was missing too and we all kept on playing. A lucky and coincidental break! We're both big fans of Doctor Who (she's even wearing her #11 costume in the pics, though the frog blanket mostly hides it). She's super die-hard and started crying all over again when she saw the inside engraving said "Two Hearts". We're also planning on having a Doctor Who themed wedding, featuring some of the music and we both want to arrive in the TARDIS. She's my geeky fiance!! Couldn't have found anyone better
How do we know this isn't just you confessing to killing the couch when you lost the ring inside it? ('Gratz!)
Wow, congrats. I'm totally envious; I've always wanted a copy of Master Detective. The whole engagement thing is cool too, I suppose.
