Ya know, games like 7 days to die, ark survival, etc. Personally, the forest is an almost perfect mix between horror and survival. The cannibals successfully terrify me enough to run away, (most of the time, anyway) and the craftable structures have enough variety to them to keep me building for awhile. It's a tad buggy, and the combat isn't the best, but the atmosphere is very sinister and ominous, and all the crafting and exploration keeps me going. So, what's your favorite survival game and why? *Holds microphone up*
I love survival games! The more co-op, the better. That said, why limit yourself to zombies? FTL is a great space survival game. Permadeath bites. Our current survival co-op go-to is Death Road to Canada. Insane 8 bit retro look twin stick shooter awesomeness.
Played death road to Canada once with a friend. That was pretty freaking fun, I'll have to do it again sometime.
I bought the Forest on sale but haven’t played it yet. The crafting is what is putting me off. I hate building things in games, and I’ve seen YouTube videos showing people having to cut down trees and carry logs. How heavy is that element?
Carrying logs gets annoying at times. axing them down is pretty easy, but if where your building isn't right next to the tree it can be difficult to transport logs from place to place since you can only hold two. But that's why you have the log sled which is what it sounds like. A sled frame made outta sticks that can hold up to like 12 logs.
Can it really be called survival, without the rest of your clan having died of dysentery before then?
My friends and I played a lot of the Forest. We literally built a board walk in the game and had massive personal houses on it.
