For me, it's Movie freakin' Barricade's spring-loaded punch. The trigger is WAY TOO SENSITIVE, and it goes off the moment I start moving his arm.

 

TFA Blackout being the lone exception for me, Automorph.

other than that, nothing really stands out as being extreme suck.

 

Any of the "lights and sounds" gimmicks on leader class figures, only because they seem to limit some of the things that they could do with the transformations. I think Leader Megs (either movie) would have had a few more options as far as detail, transformation, articulation had it not included all that crap in his chest. Batteries get removed for me anyway.

 

Deluxe Skid's punch is as lame as it gets. It goes like a third of an inch and is incredibly underwhelming. It wreaks of suck.

That thing is the very definition of annoying. There are plenty of other shitty gimmicks out there but 'annoying'... there is only one winner of that prize.

 

Correct you are. And that winner is ROTF Leader Megaton's murder arm and the cannon noise.

I actually do. Its not nearly as bad as the "if you even breath near it, it will sound off" cannon on Megs' murder arm.

 

Sounds not directly activated by yourself. Optimus Prime loudly declaring his name upon pushing a switch? Fine. Transformation noises that repeat constantly because the button is so bloody trigger-happy and it's pressed at a part of the transformation process that's tricky to align so that button is pressed a bazillion times? GTFO.

 

Most annoying gimmick was the combination gimmick in the energon toys. Totally ruined almost all the Autobot toys in that line.

 

Really? I thought some of them were made really well... I loved Ironhide + Cliff jumper, and Deluxe like Prowl, Downshift, inferno and towline has a lot of play values....

I believe the WORSE gimmick I have had in years was the FIRST ROTF figures I got, which was Optimus Prime and Jetfire. Its not the "Mechalive", but the sound. I can't transform optimus without him screaming "I am optimus prime!" continuously. And Jetfire, is not as bad, the gimmick, but as a side note: horrible transformation. It took even longer than Leader Prime for me to align the panels.

 

Not a fan of Automorph. In some cases it works but most of the time I feel like it hinders transformation  

 

Annying Gimmick is Open jaw gimmick that use on Animals based Transformers.

 

I find most gimmicks annoying. Isn't transforming enough of a gimmick anyways?

 

Barricade is the first thing that comes to mind

 

Lights and sounds. They add unnecessary bulk to figures and are a nuisance.

Because obviously articulation is a bad thing.      

 

I own a RotF Rampage and i find the "pogo Leg" spring to be stupidly annoying. I can never get him to stand in a position that doesnt make him look ridiculous because of it, its not like its a gimmick that does anything, the spring isnt strong enough to actaully make him bounce, at least with voice or sound it doesnt get in the way of the aesthetics of the toy.

 

At least it is genuine Peter C. Better than G2 Prime Sound Box IMO, lol
Still, after a while it gets annoying
