Megan Fox, she was Miss February on the FHM Calender. How I hated to see February go.

 

Okay, that's two movie threads where most, if not all, the posts I saw were rational and not just bitching. You guys are starting to scare me. Stop it.

 

All I know is that Sam's last name better be Witwicky.

I got nothing against Bernie Mac. But I am not surprised or happy to learn that he is a part of this movie' casts.

 

God this sounds wrong. This is like those days in the 80s when there were rumors that Eddie Murphy was going to be in a Trek film. Or even earlier, when Richard Pryor was cast in Superman.

I don't object to Bernie Mac (hey - why exactly is it that it's always black comedians they try to shoehorn into genre franchises? Why not Carrottop as Bond's sidekick, or Steve Martin doing an Alien film?), and I suppose there is an off chance he could work (I recall being shocked at how well Tom Arnold worked in True Lies), but BM's track record with films is very weak. The fact that he's cast makes me tremble over the script, because it implies that there was a role in the film that made them think "Bernie Mac would be great for this!"

I also don't like the fact that they are turning to TV teen pin ups for the leads. I don't know the actors one bit, but I know the pattern, and the result is usually The Fog.

Michael Clark Duncan is quite cool. Could've done some interesting voice work, but he's not a bad pic for a human. Unfortunately, his track record is a bit too spotty for me to assume anything about the film's quality.

Jon Voight should add some heft to the cast, though the fact that his resume includes "Anaconda" keeps the door from closing out ALL doubt (his performance WAS the best thing about Anaconda, BUT is was so good because it was so BAD).

Then there's John Tuturro, another great actor with a generally solid track record (though blemishes such as Collateral Damage and Monkeybone can be found). He's always interesting to watch.

Bottom line: Some trepidation, but enough good names to keep me interested.

 

Sweet Micheal Clark Duncan is in the movie, and his charecter has dons last name awesome, Don please post so we know how gitty you are right now 

 

I don't know about this news.

I always hold trepidation for movies whose cast could comprise an entire Hollywood Squares board.

obviously the big difference between this being a great movie and a yawn is the quality. The human cast is a bunch of strong, off the radar types, but that's just the humans. Patiently waiting on info on the VA cast.

Looks good to me. I like the idea of actors like Turturro and Duncan, who I've always found enjoyable on screen.

You realize, of course, that this comment leaves open the possibility of Bruce Vilanch as a voice actor for one of the Transformers...

 

John Turturro plays "the man" I think, although he could've played Mikaela for all I care. Not only is he class but he brings a degree of credibility with him.

And Bernie Mac is perfect for this role, as others have previously mentioned.

I presume It's been that way from the beginning. The only change was to give him a nickname (Spike obviously).

Anyway, this cast makes me happy. I can't really picture MCD for the role of Figueroa but I suppose it could work.

 

Is Cosmos in this movie?

 

No, but there's a slim chance for Tracks - Vilanch could work as Tracks.
