Thanks to EasyNet, we have 2 new pictures of some upcoming themed Cybertron Deluxe 2-packs. Check out the "Ground To Air Blast Pack" featuring Thundercracker and Crosswise and the "Critical Path Pack" featuring Sideways and Red Alert. See the images by clicking Here.
cool idea, i kind of wish they were doing -vs- boxes like they've done with the TrU exclusives, but not bad ~ wierd that they're packing a 4th wave toy with a 1st wave one on the Crosswise pack. any word on where these are gonna be released yet? Target seems most likely to me...
Well, so much for being a completist. I was thinking about getting the WalMart Tiny-Tins boxes as a cool variant, but this is getting to be too much. My wallet is already suffering as I buy 1 of each toy. I can't afford 3.
So what's the price on these? Target generally likes to keep their endcaps at a single price point and according to the tformers info they'll be with the $19.99 Universe and Voyagers sets. I already have 3/4 of these and wouldn't much be interested in getting a second figure unless it was like the B1G1 sets.
hmmm... unless I don't have crosswise when I see this thing, and it doesn't cost me more than $10, then I'm in... otherwise blech, no more thundercracker! no more red alert!
That's actually a really cool idea...! It's a shame they didn't start implementing these themed two-packs with Energon.
Sorry to kill the info flow (we were getting some good informational posts), but I'm going to express an opinion here. That "Ground to Air Blast Pack" is too long a name. "Bumpin' Uglies pack" would have been much more appropriate. They both look great in vehicle mode, but have terrible-looking bot modes. And, yeah, I know what 'bumpin' uglies' normally means. It's just my opinion of what you're letting them do to you if you buy that one.
I did not intend for it to look like they had a price point listed, just that they are listed as being on the same end cap with the above mentioned and formely working at Target it was always a general rule that end caps retain the same price point when possible and generally didn't go over two price points.
The fall Star Wars endcaps with $5 figures, $13 exclusive figures, $20 vehicles and $25 Battle Packs would indicate that this is more of a guideline than a rule. I don't see the two packs being a full $20 since it's basically a glorified bogo pack. I envision them at $10-14 and hanging on pegs, while the $20 Universe sets sit on 2-3 shelves below. Unless this $16.99 business is true, in which case maybe they will all be the same price as the Universe and Cyb. 2-packs are all two $10 toys in different packaging (in Overbite/Repugnus' case, close enough anyway) and $17 for both seems plausible.
Interesting concept. Too bad I'm not interested in them. There's nothing wrong with them, except I already have one and a half of these sets, and the third I haven't decided on either figure. Just because the Classics appeared in a Target computer doesn't make them Target exclusives. Look at the Beast Wars 10th figures. Besides, these aren't the Deluxe Classics.
I wondered this too...it's sorta got that random anime film title sound to it. I can't figure out what the hell it means.
