EDIT: I read it wrong oops! I've changed the below text a bit.. I was reading the paper today and the cover art of the GTA box caught my eye, now beside that picture was a picture of Bono, now to me I thought they were different articles, but it seems the above Mr. Thompson wrote a letter to Bono to BUY Take Two of the sole reason of stopping Take Two from publishing the likes GTA because of its "connections to violence". Now this could be complete bollox as it was in the tabloids, but I thought it was worth a mention.
february 8: Jack Thompson writes a letter to Bono, urging him not to buy Take 2 Dipshit's playing the religion card again, I see. Ugh. Somebody please give this odious twat a sodding good kicking from everyone on Earth who has a brain.
I got half way though reading that before I gave up. Jack Thompson is batshit nuts. Yeah some people who do crazy shit also happen to play GTA but the vast majority don't, which is what he doesn't seem to realise. The simple truth of the matter is that some people are just plain fucked in the head and no matter what you do they're gonna snap one day.
I just don't understand this guy at all, tbh I'd shoot em because I don't like him, not because I played grand theft auto... People like this do my FUCKING head in AHH!
Its not so much about GTA in itself, its about gaming in general, if you allow this fuckin prick to have his way, then we might as well put away the likes of Doom, half life, quake, helo, or any game that uses violence as its theme.
These are the actions of a desperate man. No one will pay him any real attention anymore so he he's just grabbing a straws hoping to find someone famous to back him up.
God Jack's a f***ing idiot. And I hate Bono too, because 1. He got on Time's Man of the Year 2005, and 2. I just don't like him.

I've learned something...You can do whatever you want...if you do it in the name of God. Thereby, I want somebody to kill Jack Thompson in the name of the Holy and the Divine.
Not to make the thread become a religious argument or anything, but I'm a Christian, and I play the GTA games. Should I? Probably not. I think that he needs to remember what Paul says about things being permissable but not beneficial. As a Christian, I probably shouldn't play these games. However, it doesn't take away from my faith life, so it doesn't really hurt me either. I think it all boils down to the individual and if they can make the decisions to be smart about what they do and allow themselves to do. So I guess what I'm trying to say is that he isn't really standing on too firm of ground by being a zealot about this, and he is not indicative of all Christians.
Yall remember the Milton cartoons on SNL that Mike Judge did? I can totally see a little animated short of Jack just sitting around bitching being one of the funniest things I have ever seen. I mean, this guy just loves begging to be insulted.
