I recently started collecting third party combiner sets and stumbled across the Glacialord set. I love the concept and base design but I was wondering if anyone knew of a larger, more intricate model for it (similar to TFC's Ares and Poseidon models) as opposed to the more common retro figure?

Doesn't exist. Glacialord was a one-off passion project.

Haha that's what I was thinking. Didn't know if they'd already done Glacialord and I just didnt know about it or not. Guess we'll have to wait and see. Worst-case maybe I can find a team to commission from?

If you want an actual, professional-looking toy, and not just a rough resin cast or 3D print, then that'd cost you some serious dough. And even for resin/3D print work, I'd expect you to pay thousands of dollars for the work involved in that.

    He's a FansProject original G1-esque Scramble City-type combiner

I've always wanted a chug version of Glacial Lord. But in today's market an MP or legends scaled version would be most likely.
I'll take a legends scaled version.

Well he kind of sucks compared to M3 and their Munitioner set .....both of which I own and highly prize. The idea is cool, but the execution is lacking .......it looks like he has a donkey or lama for his arm?? They need to give this thing a makeover before I even consider buying it.

I dont think I'm familiar with Munitioner. I think I mostly like the concept because they transform into animals and animal combiner sets are a lot less common than the Bruticus-esque vehicle combiners. On top of that they're predominantly ice age-era animals which hasn't really been done outside of Beast Wars.

Oh Munitioner and Explorer are from their Crossfire line and serve as replacement parts for Hasbro’s Energon ROTF Bruticus....that together with SF Heavy Arms upgrade kit really make Energon Bruticus one of my favorite combiners. So thanks FP! But anyway now that you mention it, I do agree that ice age animals are an interesting take on combiner parts .....however they seem kind of Minecrafty at this point .....I would like to see some realistic versions of these awesome beasts......did they introduce any lore on this guy?

I agree with the blocky appearance, I've never really liked that about the G1 models, despite their retro charm. Hence the reason for me making this thread lol, I wanted to see if there was a more detailed realistic model for the set, but I guess theres nothing like that at the moment so we'll have to wait and see! I don't know much about the lore behind him.

I think inventing their own combiners is a step in the right direction, rather than compete with other companies making the same thing, same size, and the same aesthetic as you (MP Menasor, anyone?).

I would buy a new combiner if it's done right. And they can even use existing characters, like a Minibot or Insecticon or Cassette Tape combiner, for instance, if it hasn't already been done before. But I prefer the modern look compared to the 80's toy look that FP did with Glacialord.

I’ve changed my mind. I think I want MP versions from Fanstoys now.

You gotta have Glacialord in hand to really appreciate it. I got it for $50 from tfsource from their black Friday sale, and it's awesome.
