Not sure if this has been posted before but I discovered a problem with the reissued FE Vehicons. Out of 15 Vehicons I noticed this problem on 5 of them. (Don't judge me, had some problems with TRU.com and UPS so I ended up with more Vehicons than I initially wanted, planned on doing returns for the excess) Here is what this part is supposed to look like My apologies for the extremely bad picture, but I discovered this problem in the bubble and didn't want to open the package. It's hard getting a clear image through a plastic tray and bubble but I hope you can get the idea. It looks like someone scraped out a circular opening causing a hole in the side of the mold. Some of the purple detail has also been scraped off and indented. Some of you might not care since this part will be in the back of the foot in robot mode, but it pissed me off after all the trouble I went to trying to get these figures that 1/3 of them are defective. This is another example of how Hasbro really skimped on these FE Reissues, so disappointing. Edit: Here are some out of package images from another member which show the problem better than I could.
So does my two. Now, if anyone would like to tell me HOW to get the arm pegs into the chest slots when it robot mode...I'd love to know. I cannot get them to work on either figure. They just won't line up, since the chest plate seems just a small bit off center from where it should be. Plus one of the wheels on my Vehicon WILL NOT turn at all. Plus it has a nice splash of silver paint on the tire. Also, while in robot mode...the triangle piece near the chest piece that folds down (and is supposed to plug into place, but won't on mine) likes to just fall off whenever touched. Only on one of them though. Although neither one likes to plug in where it is supposed to go.
I didn't mean the misaligned part in the front, I meant the gaping hole in the back, again, sorry my picture doesn't show it off well, but at least others will know where to look on theirs for problems.
I'll check mine when I get home, but more importantly: LS, what has happened to your signature! I can't get through the day without ecstatic, barely literate seekers having a reunion. Back to the topic, having just experience the FE Vehicon after the RID spoiling me I can say that even if mine has this issue it's the least of the mold's problems. And this year has already lowered my estimations of Hasbro, Takara and TRU so much that I can't say I have anything left to lose.
Just for you! Was actually considering doing a similar sig with the MP Seekers next. Back on topic, also noticed the head glue isn't so strong as so far one of my Vehicon heads fell off after only one transformation. Ouch!
I really can't see a difference. I haven't noticed anything on mine either ... I don't look that hard anyways.
I understand the fact Hasbro probably rushed a bit to mass produce these to get them out for Christmas time, but its ridiculous the issues we have between Cliff,Vehicon, and the voyagers the QC severely suffered. I have a Vehicon from the run of them released by Hasbro overseas I got from RK and have no issues of these at all. I want the voyagers and Terrorcon Cliff, but im nervous about the QC. I just feel they tried to half the time it took to make them and the QC suffered. ~AAD
Yeah, I know, my apologies for the poor image. In person you can see a large chunk of plastic missing, it's like they carved it out, the plastic is jagged and there is a chunk missing. I would have thought it was isolated but I happened to get 5 of them that were like that.
I see the problem. I bet it would look really nasty out of the package. Thanks for the heads up. Now I won't be ordering them blind, I'll just wait until I see them in store so I can check them out before buying. So far Optimus, Bulkhead, Cliffjumper, and now Vehicon all have issues. Now I'm wondering what's wrong with Starscream and Arcee.
My vehicon was missing its right hand. I already had an original run one so I didn't bother taking it back. Plus, I would have it folded in anyways with his gun plugged in.
Mine is like that, too. Passenger side is OK, but driver side has a chunk out of it. Looks like mold damage to me.
Thanks for the heads up. ^^ Mine is still packaged and it's fine, no scooped out bit like what you've shown. Bought mine in store and would not have noticed that right off the bat.
Yes! Thanks for posting a clear pic where I failed. All 5 of mine where messed up on the driver's side as well. I am going to quote you in my original post so its easier for others to see.
They are arriving from BBTS orders. Prime is missing paint apps (apparently the whole shipment) and Bulkhead has stress marks on one shoulder-holding piece (perhaps not as widespread).
