That Energon Megatron doesn't sound all that different from it's normal release, other than silver replacing white... and the thought of Rodimus black with a beard... this really will be a Star Trek rip off.
Wow, they really ARE doing the beard thing. I don't know whether to be blown away by its awesomeness or its hokeyness.
This might go down as the least desired set ever... I mean really not a single figure has sounded appealing yet, and the concept doesn't have any of the imagination or fan appeal as the last few... like the only goal was to make a set with all the big-name characters, Optimus, Megatron, Starscream... but we get so many of them already, Botcon isn't the place for that. It's supposed to give the most die-hard fans what they want, like the seekers did last year, or what figures like Cyclonus or Arcee did, bringing back characters that were under appreciated at the time. I never heard anyone who actually wanted to think of the Decepticons as the good guys... especially if it lead to such unimaginative repaints. By the way. Black Rodimus? Cause that worked SO well as a SDCC exclusive? Only exclusive I've ever heard of that's so easy to get even this far after it was released.
This is so goofy, I love it. And this way, they don't piss off every other transformer fan with the exclusives. If I have the money, I'll definately get this set. I really like the idea of the factions being flipped around like this, and I really, really want to see Megatron. We've been getting evil primes for quite a while now, but a good megatron? That's something different that we havent seen before. and to me, that makes it desirable.
I'm thinking that the Megs/Rodimus 2 pack will sell out fast and become a pricey exclusive to buy second hand, for those points you provide.
Energon Megatron? Hopefully it's the smaller one... so he's not towering over everyone else. Black Rodimus with beard? Hope they call him Scourge. Too bad we don't know who the Micron is yet... Now we just need to know the other set, and the freebie. Can't wait! This might be my last Botcon for a while... Chris

I like all of the evil Autobots that have been announced, but I'm not overly excited about the good Cons. Good Megatron is a cool idea, but I dont really need the smaller version of that mold. Starscream is one of my least favorite characters, but I'll give them credit for giving that mold more use. Could be worse.
Bearded Rodimus FTW! Although I gotta say, unless the paint jobs just blow me away, I won't feel bad that I've got to miss this year. We'll be moving into our new house that weekend. I'm curious to see the Megatron though.
so far this whole year doesnt appeal...only thing im kinda curious about is jazz and his color scheme, as he might be a substitute for classics, but even then, i doubt it.....i guess i'll just save my money for nightbeat and the few 06 and 07 figures i dont have...
