I think Moon Studios is just Zeta V with a different name. This combiner is more advanced than your typical Zeta combiner, that's perhaps the reason why it was originally planned to be released under the now defunct Zeta V brand.

Hmm, I'm still behind on my Japanese G1 cartoon lore. But I also love trains. But there is a TT Raiden coming out. But we know even less about that one and pre-order prices are going up. At least we know this one will be Zeta Combiner size. But all of Zeta's got re-issued and were much better the second time.

Show.Z says Q2 2021 for all 6. TF Source says Dec 2021 for all 6. BBTS says 2 in July, 2 in October, 2 in December (+ 3 months for the normal BBTS late shipping).

    What to do?

Personally I'm going to wait until we learn more about the Takara version, if it turns out disappointing I'll consider this set instead. As you said, the previous Zeta combiners got multiple reissues so I expect this one to be available for a while. Worst case, Raiden it's not a high priority character for me so even if I miss this one I'm not going to complain much.

They look super good, my only concern is that the panel on Yukikaze (the shinkansen train) in foot mode seems to sit just too much forward...seems a little off

Interesting the trains work with lego tracks, might have to think of a display setup for that.

I dunno about “works with”. Doesn’t appear that the wheels are actually on the tracks, but the scale is there. Anyone know what that scale roughly is?

If you're asking about the scale of the tracks, they're legos, so I dunno what to say. about everyone has seen or held one in their lifetime I'd say, so you would know how big a single lego stud is, and scale that up to the studs on the tracks.

If you're asking about the trains, there was a photo some where of the combined mode next to zeta superion, so you can get a good size of the leg bots that way.

Nice. Only criticisms I can find are those connecting arms for train mode look a little delicate, and the hinge on the back of one of the combined mode legs has already broken a little (hopefully just prototype material issues and nothing serious).

Still very looking forward to this.

I sure hope they do a metallic version. I don't wanna have to wait forever.

Scale in terms of model train scale. That would give me an idea of how big these trains are. I’m not sure if Lego followed a general scale with their train sets and track size.

According to this site, the Lego-tracks (L-gauge) are roughly 1:38, which is a bit smaller than HasTaks carbots, which are 1:32.

But Japanese trains are mostly narrow-gauge (Cape gauge), not standard gauge, so the scale between track size and loco size is inherently different. (of course, Raiden is out of gauge with itself, due to the bullet trains)

Give me a bit, I'll calculate some stuff.

::edit:: Ok, so if they both fit Lego track, then his left leg is 1/38 and his right leg is 1/28. :D
(because Raiden is inherently different gauges, even if the same scale----either his scale is consistent, or his gauge, but never both)
