Even if it's not built in, could there possibly be combiner hand storage in bot mode? The bit I've circled in red kinda looks like the combiner fingers?

These colours on the latest two bots are not as jarring as I was imagining (the 80s was a weird time). Are they toon accurate?

Thats one of the reasons I still think there's a slight chance the hands could be built in - or perhaps stored in each arm-bot. Can someone point me to where its been stated by Moon Studios the combiner hands are add-on parts??

As I've said previously, you can be sure the Moon/Zeta design team have had a close hard look at the engineering involved in the built in combiner hands on MMC's Assaultus. And as others have said, it would really cap off a top-notch combiner project if the last 2 trains to be released - both of them arm-bots - have this feature built in.

It hasn't been stated one way or the other. Being a "random third party company that is definitely just starting", they aren't very clear and open about specifics

At least on the yellow one I believe the colors are more based on the real train that the toy was based on (David posted a picture of the train a couple of weeks ago). The toon was a more saturated yellow.

There has not been any true "proof" about the hands either way. I argued for a long time they could be built in, but gave up once we got the color images of Seizan. The area I thought the hand would store in train mode is filled with the robot mode arms so I gave up on the hand being built in. That said I would still say it is possible they are built in, I just can't see how. I had not noticed the possible fingers poor man circled a few posts ago before.

Adding a little contrast to that image, it does indeed look like there's a hand stored back there. The wrist connection in combined mode doesn't look like it could be built-in as with MMC's figures, but at the very least maybe the hand can be stored, which is a plus.

If a Combiner component can’t be “all-built-in”, this is the next best thing, built in storage for a separate hand (assuming it does end up being a separate piece).

Oh shid I'm totally willing to eat crow over this if they managed to get it to store even if in a partsforming manner.

I just can't shake this feeling that Moon want their 6 trains to stand-alone as a completed combiner - minus weapons and add on wings. So many people were certain Kaan/Iron Arm wouldn't be pants but have a seperate piece like Kronos & Constructor have. Same goes for Raiden's head built in. In both cases there were sheepish feasts of crow following the photo reveals. Still holding out for built-in hands team, as I always have. But also anticipating my own feed of crow in the process LOL!

Awesome! And looks like I haven't missed much since the entire hand thing is still going on.. *facepalm* Next thing's gonna be told is that chocolate eggs come from chocolate chickens or the moon is made of cheese lol. And what's all this about eating crow? Eek! And since we're bringing this up yet again, can someone explain what's going on with the red circled part here?.. Picsart_22-02-24_04-20-43-798.jpg

That's where the peg of the hand slots in. If you look at the picture you see the outlines of a flap with a joint so it can fold open, so that you can slide the hand in.

Or it may open to allow the hand to be manipulated around for bot mode or in for train mode :D

It wouldn’t need to split like MMC’s all-built-ins. I’m happy either way but the more built in the better :)

I am personally not in favour of the built in system, because it causes compromise within the individual bots and poorly proportioned combiners, but in this case we know that besides the Raiden head, nothing is built in.

Do the combiner feet count as built in?

That's a trick question when it comes to Raiden. :p
